there are some games that i can think of:

-Infiniminer (very likely to minecraft, but development have stopped)
-Mythruna (also very similar to minecraft, but still in development)
-roblox (you have to download it, but after download you can play it via browser or downloaded launcher (internet needed to play))

you can try get some information about those games yourself, if you find them interesting...

Are any of them as good as Minecraft though? I think Minecraft, especially with its large community of modders, is top of the line as far as this type of game goes.

You can go on servers where the offline mod is turned on. A little trick I learned from my friend about Minecraft servers.
