Will there be a poll to decide whether regular aikido mods or rouxkido realism mod?

[POLL] Mod for tournament?
Rouxster is making a large bracket tournament for the whole org. What I want to know is what you would prefer, normal aikido mods such as abd, greykido, etc. or a custom mod designed by Rouxster which is more realism-based. You may just vote on the poll but giving a reason as to why you voted on either one would be much appreciated. Vote away, thanks.

I think a separate poll is redundant. We can discuss it in this thread, thats why i made it.

Alright then. Firstly, as organizer would you be open to a different mod or are you set on Rouxkido?

The whole point of this thread is to brainstorm ideas for the event. Rouxkido is just my suggestion

Well I think regular aikido mods would be good too. Very popular and everyone is familiar with it. People inside and outside the org would most likely be interested in a ta hosted aikido bracket tournament.

Since there would be a big prize, everyone will want to lift and shovel. That is totally lame.
The point of rouxkido is to eliminate lame moves.

But don't you think lifts and shovels are easily countered by skilled players anyway? IMO most of the lifters and shovellers would be eliminated in the first round.

Well that wouldn't be too bad IMO. I say if they lift then lift em' back. Any other opinions?

I understand it's not supposed to be a real move because you want to pin your name to it which I have no problem with. But if you keep flip flopping what the technique is then it's really no technique at all. I did the roux whip exactly as you showed me and holy shit it works, pretty well I might add.

But having requirements to "whip him violently" makes no damn sense because there's always variables we can't control.
And I would add that the move works just as good against a tall based opponent as it does against a floating based opponent.
