Hey im just gonna vent here a bit, something slightly weird/magical happened, and I am not sure where would be a proper place to post this.

Ever since I was under 10 my parents were already fighting for some reason or another, I think there was cheating from my mother's part from the small bits I remember.

They broke up and my brother and I decided to stay with my father. Things went well until I was around 11, my mother began calling us asking us to go back and neither of us wanted to. Well she threatened suicide to get both of us back to her, I gave in. He paid child support for all these years, called us constantly not to ask us to go back but to check on us, gave us stuff and whatelse.

I just held this on and kept pushing through life.

Thos weekend I'm visiting him, and as we were talking the topic ressurfaced and I called him aside to talk about it. I wanted to tell him that it was a decision I made in panic and not what I was choosing for myself.

He knew.

He reassured me and gave me tips. Then the magical thing happened.

He told me she was using the same tactics against him. Eventually he burnt out then he said:

"If you want to do it so badly I won't stop you. There's only so much I can do for you."

And that stopped EVERYTHING. They broke up after that.

I feel like I learned something new.

I am still processing everything, I'm trying to find a way to navigate between being a good son who helps her with the kids and the house chores, and being someone with boundaries, someone who's not just a carpet. Her other kids are special needs, I need to help her.

Now I'm realizing that my entire personality has been shaped by this, I think that's why I was never someone who fought at all, crumbled under the slightest pressure, doesn't know to say no and all that.

I still need to think but that's a big realization for me.

I went through a VERY similar story, and let me tell you, you are not and never were to blame for what your parents do. My mother had psychological disorders at the time, so threats of this kind were common. It got to the point where my father ended up finding someone else, only this time worse, at the time, I had also chosen to stay with him.

I always broke down thinking about it whenever I was under any kind of pressure, even the most harmless.I went through a lot with my mother, I helped her, I had depression, I lost 30 kilos, and with each passing day the thought of dying grew stronger. I lost my father while he was still alive. He left the country, went to live in Israel. No contact for 8 years.

My mother got better, she managed to overcome her problems, and I managed to overcome some of mine, at a VERY high cost,
I realized she was terrified at the time.

my father returned unexpectedly on my wedding day, after 8 years and i have the SAME talk to him, It was a desperate choice.

And after a long conversation, I discovered that he was terrified at the time too.

Cuida da tua mãe, mas nunca se afaste do seu pai.

Se precisar conversar, pode me chamar também <3

Artist. Sometimes.

Thanks for the support and kind words everyone! It was really nice and comforting overall.
Some stuff has happened in the meantime, she took some decisions and it cost me a bit, and I think in a few months I'll disappear and reappear monthly, but I'm pushing it from here, gotta work so things get better over time.

You've gone through some truly rough stuff TORIITO, but it seems things have improved for you, which are very nice!

Well, to lighten up this a bit, here's some Neco Ark

I'll just ask some of you who has my personal phone contact or WhatsApp to not talk about this over WhatsApp because she sees my messages and everything else.
}my comfort character and a bit of how I feel at this very instant.

It's never been more fucked up. Got a new chapter on my saga.

Well sorry for starting yet another personal rant, but I haven't got much else irl to vent, she'll see my phone messages so I'm not sure where else to talk about this and be heard. Stuff just got worse and I'm already dread tomorrow and this week like the plague.

My mother and her 'not-husband', the deadbeat father of their kids, got done with eachother and she started searching for a place to live after some fights, screaming matches and she getting mad at him for scolding harshly the kids over dog shit.

We have found a new house this weekend and she already started to rent it, and I had to pay for a big portion of it.

I'm not sure I've said this before but she tanked my credit. A lot. She's really bad with money, she has awful credit, and when she got denied more loans or credit cards, she used my name. I've got 5 credit cards that I never used, all with credit maxed out, fees late, and a loan that is still being paid(late), which money was used on repairing the house we are leaving just around 3 months prior. Basically the money was burnt.

She drained my savings from my previous job, and I tried secretly saving from my new internship, but I still can't handle pressure and I gave in, she proceeded to take even more money with me over stuff here.

Today she was acting really awful about things and pretty much badmouthing everyone here while we were all cleaning the house. Then she started saying about how things are going to be much harder on the new house but it will make us 'stronger' or 'real men' or whatever other bullshit she's saying to justify her behavior.

And it's not like me and my brother don't help her. I've took care of her 3rd kid throughout my high school so she could go to work(I used to study in the morning, then get home and proceed to take care of him alone the rest of the day), we clean the house, cook, pay the bills and do whatever else we need around the house. My brother got a car recently and is helping take her 2 youngest kids to therapy(aged 4 and 10). And even today we are helping with her newer kid and the house.

At this exact instant she's yelling at her youngest kid over toys he left around.

Tomorrow is gonna be a fucked up day, but like they say things get worse before they get better eh?

I'll just ask some of you who has my personal phone contact or WhatsApp to not talk about this over WhatsApp because she sees my messages and everything else.

On a self help note, if I survive this then I'm surviving anything else.
-----
I'm just glad that at least I managed to keep my cat, the landlord wouldn't accept pets but I managed to haggle with him so I could keep her.
----
and she just went apeshit on my 10yo brother(note, actual diagnosed AuDHD) because he forgot where he put the phone charger, and then went even worse after she found it. I want to also talk about this because, previously, she gave him an ultimatum: he either lives with his 'deadbeat dad' or he learns to 'act like a person and live with her'. He picked him, and then she proceeded to yell at him that the dad's not fit to take care of him and she wouldn't ever let him do it at all since she's the one taking care of him.
