If it's a topic that has enough potential for discussion, it can be a stand-alone thread.
It's also useful to have separate threads for music or art (etc.) partly because I'd rather not have youtube links spamming up a thread like this and also because keeping all music in one thread is the most organized and efficient way of archiving such things that we've shared with each other.

A thread about Sony vs Nintendo makes for pretty low-quality discussion at best. It is not deserving of it's own thread.
