Swedish boyscouts consist of adventures overseas and on ground.
I do ground scouting. Our adventures consist of:
Survival training, Climbing, 5 day walks, surviving a walk and a night in -25 degree C*
Things you're required to know about: Map reading, compass reading, what you can and can't eat in the nature, how to stay warm, how to keep together as a group and work in one, cooking and making fire.
Things I remember the most:
Hike: Walked for a whole day from morning to night. Built a wind shelter, woke up next morning with us being buried along with the wind shelter in snow, had to dig us out and get dry.
Summer fun: Me and my friend where out taking a easy hike in the sun both of us had a female friend with us and we decided to lay down on the grass and enjoy the sun while cuddling. It started raining and we know that the worst thing that can happen to you, is to get wet. We looked at each other and said: Last one to move looses. Both girls where annoyed by this but didn't wish to move, they knew we where stubborn and would go all in. Great fun, lesser great fun experiencing the aftermath.
Canoe fun: Each year we reach long distances with our canoes for 5 long days and nights, putting up camps on small islands. One time we where moving the canoe on land we decided to go to the McDonald's drive through with our canoes on wheels (You put wheels under the canoe and then push it around while on land). Great fun.
We live. We enjoy. We experience. We are boy scouts.
