So, since I've been around the "elite" texture artists have changed a lot.

At first, everyone was like "OMG Nightmare had the best", so Nightmare was considered "Top-Dog", or at least highly competent.

Then later on guys like DarkJak and Rexton were making great sets..

Then EVERYONE had to have a set made by Mrama and his signature heads.

Then Vermine and Gabriel kind of stole the spot light.

I know I'm missing great people like Bendover and Joonveen in the spot light, but my memory slips.

My question is: who are the current, active, elite texture makers?

(P.S. I'm thinking of some cool concepts for sets, which is what spurred up the question to begin with)

...What's there to get? The question is, currently, what members of the community do people find are the best at making textures...

Hands down the best right now is Alphasonik,at least in my opinion.

To be more specific (because I knew from the start ManTrain was always the best, I've seen all of his work and admired it for ages): Texture makers who actually still make textures.

As in, if anyone pms them with money, they can get a set.

I'd say either AlphaSonik, LWafflez, Doxxy, Fate, Ferrock, or Barreta is the best artist around.

I have to agree with IceShadow, that's some really great work. But one sensei head doesn't bring someone to the "top"

I don't know Ice... he seems really good.

Is Mantrain better? Sure. 100x better? come on.

Wow Last is pretty good.

People are just far too greedy for TC now. Now, most good texture artists don't do requests as they run the risk of losing. It's silly. Because what use to be a subsection of a board which promoted great competition for artists when they'd all have to come up with some unique and of the highest quality, has now turned into a dull area where 2 to 3 nonames post their try's and don't fix anything if their not in the lead.

Furthermore: all the great artists of the now only do sets by request, via pm. Which is just silly. Like, I get it: if I wanted a set by ManTrain (which I do lol), I'd have to PM ManTrain and cross my fingers. But if you're not "on that level" yet, you should be trying to prove yourself by winning the most requests with the most creative sets.
