i think the point op is trying to make is that with a decap prize, the players' attention gets diverged to something besides actually betting.

Fair point, but if decapprize is the thing that changed betting serves into "get the decap in any way possible or leave when others get it" servers, it would make sense to take it away.

I understand also why it really cant be at this point. Its too far in, it would probably start a revolt in the community, and eventually it would just have to be put back.

As much as I agree that decapprize kills the spirit of betting servers nowadays, it just cant be taken away at this point.

Decapprizes shouldn't be removed in my opinion and also if the OP pauses the game or resets he could get reported so maybe the GMs should establish guidelines for such situations. Also he could pause then contact a GM but then what if one of them pings and blames him? Also the people betting could be very aggrevated if the OP cancels the bets or resets the game.
