If you're looking to become council, this is exactly what not to do. If you're going to ask me directly without so much as an application then you need to be sure that I understand and everyone understands you understand what it is you're doing. If you're relying on word of mouth on where to apply and what makes an application appropriate then you are definitely not right for the role.
