These threads tend to be pointless - there is absolutely no way to determine who the best player is objectively

If the only point of any discussion is to reach an absolute objective conclusion very few discussions can be had. It's fun to discuss such things. Even tho there's no objectively "right" answer, the same people do pop up here quite often. You can quasi-objectively make an argument for some individual players. If there was "there is absolutely no way to determine who the best player is" as you say, then Cold, shockey, killer3366 and a random white belt would all be on the "same line". That just is not the case, sure this discussion might not have a definitive goal, or absolute objectivity behind it, but to think there's no discussion to be had is wrong.

Cold is a great all-round player, one of the best, sincerely.
Fear and Qubic are really good in ABD. Moonshake is great in, pretty much, all of the "kidos" I've seen him playing - greykido, ABD etc. etc.
Agony was (because that stupid fuck doesn't play anymore) amazing in a lot of mods, ABD mostly. He really saved our asses in some competitions: wars, Clan League...
killer3366 is, without a doubt, the best striking player I've ever seen. He's just fantastic in rk-mma.
Noel is very good in a handful of mods as well.

I wasn't talking about my experience in the championships don't know why you'd think I was referring to that (that was a good few years ago... not talking about aikido championships just so you understand.)

We haven't had a championship since 2010 right? I think it's time to bring that back.

We want a championship that has 500 players in the bracket and will lat 2 months too truely know whos the best, heck make that all the active players in tb if possible

That's kinda the point of a tournament...

The weaker players probably wouldn't be able to win and stronger ones will continue to go through the bracket until it narrows down to top 16 or something.
The active players are the ones who should be participating, not just the subjective "elites."

It was done before and probably took a lot of effort to manage, but I think dropping it completely doesn't solve anything really. It was an enjoyable event to participate in and probably the biggest event we can have for multiplayer (as opposed to the single player world championships that has returned on multiple occasions.)

Who cares about "elite" players everyone needs to get a chance like some really good people in the game but isnt even well known in forums and we wont even know if theres just someone there hiding and playing secretly in alts kinda like dueiist unusal swansongs (even tho hes banned and we all know hes kiss) and we wont even know what im capable of
Id have to say all the wins i get in abd are from luck all the wins i have in boxshu are from rushes eeverything else like random mod is just a thing im good at (for some reason most of the mods that are random and i never even played before i win at it .-.)

No black belt (aka under 1k games) in the game, (not an alt) will ever beat any of the people mentioned here in a 3 mod first to 5 duel. It's not that players mentioned here are "average players who are known". They are mentioned over and over for a reason. The reason being, they are pretty damn good at the game.

Saying "everyone deserves a shot" is nice, but then again, if you plan on hosting a tourney for around 30 people, whats the point of having some low tier players sandbagging the tournament. There are no miracle 2nd dan black belts who actually can match anyone on the list. It so just happens, that people who are good at the game, get noticed because the community is so darn small.

I'd understand where you're coming from if the game had 100k players, so that some of the good players might fly below the radar, but again, that's not the case. In the case of Snook, yeah most people know hes pretty good, but nobody seemed to think he was the best, that's it. With such a small player base, people who are good, are known to be good. That's it.
