love sting, was hooked on The Dream of the Blue Turtles for a good while. never heard of that song before, sounds a bit poppy but still sounds like sting

From that album I really like the song Russians, what's your favorite song from the album?
(if you even have any)
aha, cage the elephant, not an absolute favourite of mine, but, i own a few of their albums nonetheless.
shake me down is definitely one of my favourites due to the progression felt in the song and how well composed it feels. and goddamn those feels.
melophobia wasn't a bad album either and this song (below) is pretty much the shake me down of the album, and most probably my favourite song from it.
@sting, his independent music was pretty hit and miss with me, with shape of my heart being a tad too slow for my taste with sting (is the same with the police's song every breath you take) and the instrument that i'm not too sure about (is pretty annoying at 3:36 -3:42) ruins alot of the song's good moments.
however with the more funky, fast song's like roxanne and synchronicity II his voice is alot more satisfying and interesting to hear.
that's just an opinion though, so you don't have to put on the red light.

Love that song Skylar, The calm tone is just what i need to like it. I'm not that much into understanding the lyrics of a song so I don't really care what it's about. This is what i would listen to if i were to take a walk somewhere and just get lost in my mind.
Here is a song i have been listening to for a while, a bit funky 8-bit-ish stuff
hi tuna, massive attack are pretty damn cool, I remember their song splitting the atom (or something along those lines) which was pretty catchy, never attempted to listen to a full album though. there are many artists in your small list which i at least kind of like and some which are pretty damn amazing.
still, reccomendations would be bloc party (maybe the album intimacy or a weekend in the city first? although i don't really know fully which album you'd like best) and probably kasabian, although you probably would know of them in some songs.
also, scotland -> franz ferdinand, you'll know countless numbers of their hits

mage: when was that released? i remember at one point a song by those guys was played all over the place and i dont remember which, but i think its this one because it sounds familiar. either way no strong opinion on that song from me, not a huge fan of pop rock
anyone hype for new disclosure album
im not even a big fan of disclosure but this is good
I know CTE too :<
Also do you understand Nine in the Afternoon? Message is awesome man X)
nice work going on everyone, i'm liking the majority of posts, however like the one above (sorry for singling you out rhaemond) are a tad subpar, and could easily be better. for that specific post, he could of gone on to actually explain the message to other people, or why it is awesome, because its good to have statements, but, better to back them up with explanations. cheers
@pusga, I'm really not into that sort of music, and honestly i'm not too sure if it is house or something else, but, it feels a bit samey to other songs that i've heard a glimpse of. however i can appreciate the vocals are pretty nice at 1:18 onwards. still, doesn't take my fancy.
been looking for some other alternative bands and came across interpol, and their perhaps greatest hit - evil. it overall sounds very emotive with rapid tempo changes and a mixture of riffs and all the malarky. the meaning behind it is also pretty special and based of real life events which I quite like;
explanation from a youtube comment
For anyone who doesn't know what the song was supposed to be about: It's about Fred and Rosemary West, a serial killer couple who murdered several people and were eventually caught after murdering their own daughter. Fred West hanged himself in prison after his attempts at emotional contact with Rosemary failed to garner any reciprocation. The song is told from his point of view either right before he commits suicide or right after, that's something that could be up for debate, although it seems that this reflection was most likely meant to be taken as occurring after. The song is called "Evil," because it's about Fred West hypothetically reflecting on all of the evil things he had done in his life and subsequently becoming remorseful. Also; yes, the puppet is supposed to be Ian Curtis.
also that puppet shudder

i'd say if they wanted to save rock and roll, it would of been best for them to of continued with their old style, since alot of the charm was lost as well as the quality on the album, with multiple songs being very pop-like with some generic rappers intruding during the middle of them (including the worst lyric in the world 'sure, i'm a dick, girl - addicted to you').
when i listened to p!atd and fob, i felt that it was a boring album with some good moments, but alot of bad ones.
still the implementation of the music video storyline was kinda cool, and elton john making an appearance can't hurt.
SHUFFLE SOMEDAY
also does anyone want to throw a good question into discussion?
