@Kyuri Vanic is great:

@Skylar I think you showed that one to me, I didn't like it that much.
@AlphaN00b Not my type, too harsh, but in a way that I don't like, almost sounds like an eerie winning sound.

HEY PUSGA LOOK HERE

Pauline olivieros was pretty cool. Made her own electric instrument (which I think got input from lines made with pencil on paper, which is damn cool). I had to post this because I just got a huge box with her music.

Also sorry for the inactivity. Our internet provider is awful and won't correct their own mistakes. Such is the cruelty of capitalism. Dunno how long it will stay this way.

capitalism why you have to be so cruel?
that song/track/whatever you want to call it is strange
never listened to this type of music before and i probably never will
it's not bad and actually quite interesting

it sounds somewhat eerie and as if someone is trying to communicate with aliens dunno why but that's just what it sounds like to me.
quite nice to play this while reading something, but sometimes it's too high pitched and hurts my ears.
overall it's interesting.

is there anyone here that likes symphonic/progressive power metal?
my sister always used to listen to this stuff and i pretty much have always heard this stuff being played in the room next to me.

recently this type of music has been really fun for me.
here's just one of many:

dreamy suicide act
Tautou, it's a very short and simple song, however it's a very powerful song yet beautiful

I was wondering if anyone here knows similar songs, because I haven't found any.

@Pidgenere instrumental is nice but honestly the singers voice doesn't fit this type of music at all
maybe that's just me tho

@Kyuri overall I'm not a huge fan of EDM but OMFG - Hello is a pretty funny song.
nice uplifting beat but after a while it gets a bit repetitive.
dreamy suicide act
@cocacobra nice song but not my cup of tea

Listening to a lot of Bruce Springsteen @ the moment

this is very cool. some it sounds like granular synthesis which i enjoy. im not sure what the exact methods used for these sounds were but they remind me of resonance and bitcrushing combined and thats one of my favourite combos. the more i learn about music the more i enjoy it for its methods of creation (and not only for its "beauty" or whatever word is less cheesy). thx will check out more

desu: honestly never really listened to bruce or any other popular rockstar for very long since most of the songs wear out on me not too long after. catchy, but probably outdated by now, if anything like this was being made now it would probably get labeled as cheesy or a "throwback" to 30 years ago, even if the artist didnt have such intentions.

cocacobra: this is nice, although for some reason that guitar and those chords in particular dont seem like something i would put together with artsy vocals and psych reverb like that. sounds like a slightly poppy approach to indie rock or whatevs its called (dont mean that in a bad way). the guys were probably aware of that though since the song is pretty short, which i think was a good decision. i enjoyed that

after listening to danks song im not sure if i consider this one very similar to it, i thought it was a lot more pacy.

i finally decided to listen to the releases Aphex Twin did as The Tuss, for some reason i didnt think highly of it even though i had never listened any of it before.
i think i like it, although im on the fence regarding some of the tracks. it just sounds like the guy is having fun but in some segments he might be having too much fun and ignoring the fact that those segments might be obnoxious to the listener. i know my opinion will probably change after a while but thats probably my first impressions

on the other hand i love some of the really obnoxious stuff like the detuned saws at 0:44

oh yeah
since there hasn't been a post in over a week i thought maybe it's nice to share a song about time
actually it's just a coincidence but whatever

lately i've been listening to a lot of scatman
my favorite songs from him are lebanon, take your time, i'm a scatman and scatman's world.

i recommend you check them out

@kyuri that first song somehow reminds me of Fox Stevenson so maybe you'll like his music aswell.
dreamy suicide act

Macklemore dropped this and I haven't stopped listening to it since

desu: macklemore doesnt seem that excited while he raps
ryan lewis and him should partner up with someone else. macklemore and ryan lewis is making money, but most of their songs sound same-y, this is very reminiscent of their few songs that got ultra popular a while ago. they could always separate and use it as a promotional stunt to make people listen to whatever they release next

bonus points for cowbell though

Kyuri: edm, nothing that particularly interests me. the first song has synths and melodies that are waaaay too sweet, i think i got a bit annoyed of it. one thing that i noticed though is that there is this new meme or something of putting chiptune synths in your songs. it never seems to work though, it just seems to make me think that the artist wanted to be "retro" for no reason

also what is future bass? from what i gathered it seems to be any sort of BPM and rhythm to some rave synths, but i dont see the point of labeling them under a whole new genre if the only difference is the fact that there are "melodic" synths on top of it.

dank: scatman john had some talent but i was always slightly disappointed that most of his songs were uninteresting

Lazors: i think this is one of the few times you have posted something that doesnt interest me that much. chorus is good, but what kills everything for me is the singing, i just cant deal with that screaming :L still, the melodies are fairly enjoyable, i didnt feel like it was 100% uninteresting.

i trust your instincts but may i suggest some edm that you might enjoy?

in fact, most drum and bass from the 90's is some of the best edm ive listened to.
