it might be because i was just listening to bjork, but that song sounds extremely weirdly EQd, the hats have like no impact at all and blend with everything else. either way, there is barely anything i can say since it's pretty straight forward music

ok to stop this thread from becoming a music dump i'll put up a question or something

yesterday i listened to the new album by Beach House, a band that i enjoy, and i realised that almost all of their songs sound exactly the same production wise throughout their whole discography. same instruments, same synths, same production methods etc. i don't know any other band who keeps to a formula so strictly

i can't link anything here from the new album because it's not out yet, they've been selling vynil copies at their shows and people have put it on the internet (it comes out on friday, i plan to buy it a few weeks later when it's not expensive as shit)

the question is can a band devoid of creativity (regarding their methods and "mannerisms" in their albums) make consistently good music, and eventually build a good discography? if you want examples, here are two Beach House songs. pretty much all of their songs sound like this.
oh yeah
Yah, originality can be hard, a lot of the time a band can put put a great song but the rest can be completely different and don't get as popular but at the same time originality is important so yeah I don't know

I did an 'experiment' with this thread to see whether I was right, and yes I pretty much was spot on in what I thought was happening here.
most of the time, this thread was mainly just bumped by me either giving a question or just in general posting something that wasn't just a music bump and that seemed to give the activity a little spike since members were slightly interacting with each other. Pusga's post basically gives evidence to this since with his question, within a few hours, there have been two posts devoted to it, a big difference since everyday mlo barely gets a single post..

I'm honestly not going to keep bumping the thread like I used to because that just isn't what the music loving organisation is (and it's really goddamn tedious) so I really really really want members to tell me or whoever what they want from this org because otherwise I'll probably get this closed due to the fact there are other threads in the music board that share the exact same purpose of random music dumps.

tldr; if we don't change and make this board into something that will work, it's going to go, sorry.

im learning the piano, although my initial intention was to get a good grasp of music theory and not exactly perform. i used to play the guitar aswell, but i didnt really enjoy it that much at the time.

when i was learning guitar my teacher also had a drum set and would sometimes let me play it, he taught me a few things and after that i always wanted to play the drums but i dont have the patience or rhythm for it
oh yeah

people who applied, you're in? I guess?

@everyone else, yes this level of activity is much much better, although I have been away for a couple of days. thanks dudes.

I started to pick up my old 3/4 size guitar at the start of summer holidays and got my electric 4 weeks after, so I've currently been learning it for about 12 weeks, I do enjoy it alot and feel like it is one of the most accessible instruments there is due to them not being crazy expensive, but, still a widely used instrument in most areas of music. yes, guitars are cool.
hey koko, wheres that guitar that you are/were going to buy (also don't let life pull off your sack)
