I've done it with all types of grabs. Having a body grab, though, gives you more control of their body. I like having body grips because it makes it harder for them to tripod.

so when you up grade from using hooks to secure against suplexes sometimes you get leg laces. i wish to understand this more anyone got anything?

it is a suplex block but i can't calll it just that i have other ways of achieving the block. im currently working through the type of hooks you can use to make your self heavier or remove their base. depends on the suplex. same way we have straight arm suplexes bent armsuplexes or a poor mans suplex.

I think either term is fine for th catch all name. Like pin pressure or grab tricks. Im trying to break it down into the moves/positions so i can explain the concept better. Just the same as a throw isnt just a throw. It could be a should throw or a leg throw. The devil is in the details. Once we have enough diffrent sub moves we can link them together. Like bjjs guard, halfguard,sidecontrol ect
