As for the app, Roux will agree (hopefully) that me and him designed the new application together to be a direct but demanding form that gives us exactly what we need to know, leaving no room for irrelevancy.

This has only been in place for maybe 2 months and what I see is improvement in the system:
1. it has discouraged many of the weaker players from applying who wouldn't be accepted anyway.

2. It extracts only essential information from the applicant.
I guarantee if you return to free form apps your going to get paragraphs of nonsense that nobody wants to read. Even if you request that they be aikido specific.

3. With one, maybe two exceptions, the applicants who have put the effort into these formed apps have all turned out to be exceptional players and members.

Look at this

MrDohnutz Application

You know in the first minute of reading this application that you want to accept this guy. Everything is organized and direct. The replays are key and we can't review apps with out them.

Every single applicant who is accepted should jump out like this guy. It makes the process so much easier and efficient. Of course there's always room for tweaking.

Finally, I just edited the app thread that should take care of one problem where people have been forgetting to post there replays.

Giving the coins of my rear pocket:

We already used the free form application and it used to be too much of subjective. People used to be accepted depending on the mood of the people who used to vote/decide on that.

Answering some points:
1. Weaker players has never been accepted anyway. Free form application or not. We used to deny them because they joined the org and never posted or participated in the org in any form. They just die as most of the newbies. In few weeks we had more than 70 members and the org was completely dead. (That's the explained situation of the org of when I became leader)
And for Ponzo: Actually we grew up until here as an elite organization, from a complete liberal system with nothing else than just having fun in aikido to some standardized and recognized movements and styles, still liberal and having fun, and that's why we're an org of aikido. That's why we exist. Also people don't need to join the org to learn what we teach: threads are open, techniques are not secret. They should be encouraged to become good players so they come in and help us to evolve.
2 and 3. So true

I hate to say this but he is actually leader of TA for a reason. We indeed want to know the person we're accepting but free form applications never did to help in this point. Usually when the guy comes we already know him or not, and if we don't we go play with them and try to know them. That's how the application process should work.

Everybody joins Team Aikido with the purpose of getting better. But you don't need to be a useless shit in toribash to get in. Getting some padronized forms in TA brought inovation, better members and visibility in the community. Going back to free form will make us go downstairs instead of upstairs.
