When you think about things that keeps people attached to a game it's probably objectives and milestones. Think about most popular online games like CS:GO, LoL, Rocket League.. They all got a good player rewarding system which gives prizes for reaching certain rank or stage in the game. In Toribash any new player can quickly realise that it doesn't matter what you do, you won't get any rewards without rank 1, risk or grind.

This game mainly lacks persistent objectives that people would feel motivated to chase and work for. I could even argue that last ranking system was way better because you had a constant rank that you could try to improve, as well as have your specific mod ranks that you would feel motivated to hold if you reach a high rank.

Reaching rank 1 is pretty much impossible nowadays, especially with the way that the system is set up encouraging all sorts of dirty ways of progression, like looking for noobs to abuse and get easy elo or just get a buddy on his alt to assist you in obtaining rank 1 by him losing few games to you.

And besides rank there is nothing, nothing at all. Even the achievements are quite buggy and half of them dont show up as achieved even when you should get them.

I feel like making a daily quests that would reward players with TC would be most effective way to increase activity or instead of rewarding rank 1 with insane amounts of TC better system could take place like reward top 10 or top 20 (of course rank 1 would still get the most)
