Forums Visual Overhaul
Hi, in the next few months we're planning to update how forums look and make them feel less 2000-y.
What would you like to see visuals-wise, what new features do you want to have added? Dark theme or light theme?
Some forums we've been looking at in search for ideas:
https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/overwatch/ - my personal favorite, good general design and colors, forum home sucks but thread display is nice. Too minimalistic for Toribash but there's definitely a way to keep current customizations we provide with VIP and clan stuff without making it feel cluttered.
https://www.epicgames.com/fortnite/forums - closer to classic display but posts display is super bad imo. Color scheme also sucks.
https://forums.warframe.com/ - not a bad look overall

5. As for the main frame of the forums you can totally change it. instead of having it in like order like 1. 2. 3. 4, like we have now. You can put them into box categories. And have like the "Toribash" section into one box, "help" section into another box, "market", "clans, etc into a separate box like this: https://imgur.com/a/4JSD2LY and then in each box background you can put a shade of a tori to make it look cool if you know what i mean.
Then after having all your boxes you will have plenty of space at the bottom- which can allow you guys to add advertisements to promote tb like: https://imgur.com/a/LrIEs8p
We want to go with a clean design so no obnoxious animations/ads/moving toris will be used. Top part will most likely have a 100% width promo image so empty top right area won't be an issue. Unlikely to add any customizations to "Welcome, %username%" area - in fact we'll likely only have a "Profile" button with a number of unread messages shown by default.
Also ugh, tb ads on tb forums? That's not really how ads are supposed to work.

It would make the forum laggy and it'd take ages to load. I would put my focus on optimizing it and make it fast/bug free, while at the same time modernizing a bit the overall design. It doesn't need animations/cool effects/large HD images.
Some larger images and css animations are kinda inevitable but yeah, we'll try to keep it as lightweight as possible.
