Clan League 2026

A new Clan League rises on the horizon. Gather your fighters, refine your craft, and step onto the battlefield ready to leave nothing behind.

RULES

- Changes to roster after sign up period is strictly prohibited.
- Users found playing on multiple rosters on alternate accounts will be punished and the clans involved will be disqualified.
- Failure/avoiding to complete matches will result in a loss for the failing clan unless proof is provided that they are making an effort to complete matches.
- Match scores should be clearly stated Please use this format it'll make everyone's life easier, as well as a list of participants and all replays.
- If you get banned during the event, you are automatically out but your clan is still able to participate.

ROUND CRITERIA

This time is different! We will be playing a split Knockout and round robin format, no need to randomize seeds.

The way this will work is that we will play round robin like usual and then top 4 will be placed in a final knockout bracket.

All clans will face each other once in the round robin.

Aikidobigdojo is to be played first, then, Loser picks mod.
Each mod can be played 6 times.
A player has a limit of 6 games per match-up.
First to 16 wins.
Maximum of 30 games.
In the case of a 15-15 situation, both clans can choose one of their participants to play the deciding game and the mod to be played is the last one that was played.
Winner takes all.

However, I am saying:
  • Alpha is and has been a clan designed to primarily recruit skilled players who share the goal of "winning". The clan's description literally reads "designed to win". This shouldn't be controversial.
  • Since Alpha is transparently and primarily concerned with "winning", it is expected that the friendships among members within the clan will be generally weaker compared to other clans (hence me comparing Cicada, Warabi, Kros with Fire, Ponzo, Tyka -- I'm sure you guys got along but I struggle to imagine the friendships being particularly strong.)
  • Alpha has been able to both maintain and cultivate its roster primarily due to its reputation and clout. Other clans simply do not have this, which is why is has been historically difficult to compete with Alpha.
  • Money, however, is far more persuasive to most people than reputation and clout. So, I'm surprised it's taken someone this long to attempt this.

For example, consider the idea of WAPOW coming back next year and signing up for Clan League with iTemp and Kros appearing on its roster. With this rule in place, do you seriously think iTemp and/or Kros will say "yeah Pyro paid us $500 each to play for WAPOW"? Do you think Pyro will admit the same? Obviously not. iTemp, when questioned, will give a slightly more plausible answer of "I just want to win", and Kros will say "me itemp and pyro been friends long time bratan DD". So then what do we do as staff? Prohibit WAPOW from playing due to "bad vibes"? The situation rapidly becomes absurd.

It's competition. It's not "fair". It never was "fair". If we were concerned about maintaining any semblance of parity for Clan League, then Alpha wouldn't have won it seven times. Do you think Alpha members are just really good friends? Do you think people the likes of Kros, Cicada, Warabi and BOOST joined Alpha because they're such good friends with Fire, Ponzo and Tyka? Absolutely not. Alpha exists for the sole purpose of collecting/attracting the best players and winning events like these, and what has just happened with Experience is simply the Alpha project taken to its logical conclusion, but perhaps until now nobody had the money or gall to pull it off. So, not only is this sort of thing long overdue, but also I personally welcome it and I am glad to see people getting paid for their talents for once.

no its lie. i would say "me itemp pyro and milkshake been friends long time bratan DDDD"
Blyat I got banked again
W-why cant we all just be friends? :(

I might raise a concern about the organization of this first phase of the CL.
All of this comes with the CLEAR NOTE that we haven't been active for a pretty long time, but:

- 10 clans
- each clan has to fight 9 times
- each clan has to reunite at least 5 people to be able to play through all the rotation of 30 max matches (31 but well, I assume that on the 31st match that "max 6 matches" can be broken).

Trying to coordinate to fight 9 times with people with different timezones in groups that internally might also have different timezones is pretty hard.

Despite of the main principle of the format is a valid reason like "everyone gets to play a lot", 1 month for these 9 matches is unrealistic. Even more if you expect clans themselves to solve the problem that the organizers should solve.

Extending the 1 month deadline seems a lot, I agree 100% that 1 month is a nice timeframe for this event.

I'm proposing 2 different options, of course they can be ignored at all:

- Swiss System
The first matches can either be randomized (easy way) or picked according to clan-selected timezones (more sensible way). Since we're 10 teams, Buchholz tiebreaker could come in handy.

- Groups system for round robin
This might reduce by half the ammounts of games played, but is a decent system if you want it solved in 1 month. I mean I though that this was the original plan when the "Round Robin" system was proposed in the previous thread. Same idea, groups could be randomized or by timezone.

Then split the teams in upper and lower brackets, to give top ones some advantage, and the ones that lost the most another chance to prove themselves worthy.

Anyways don't want to take over the event lol, just a proposal. Since when I DM'd you to ask about this and you pointed me directly to the thread, I did this, BOOST.
I agree for either extending deadline or splitting into groups of 2 ?
