The Duel Glitch Bans
Please read before commenting!

First of all, I want to say that I was not a part of the duel glitch and I'm not trying to defend myself.

The duel glitch was a problem a few days ago where people was able to make millions of toricredits because of a glitch in the duel system. The glitch is now fixed and can not be abused anymore.

Everyone that abused the glitch does now have a 2 year ban, the idea was to teach them to not abuse bugs/glitches in the system, because they will sooner or later be banned because of it.

Now to another point. Most games goals are to get as many players as possible, or as many players as possible for that type of game. When a glitch is found, people will abuse it. It is no way to stop them. You can ban them, but other players will start to use it too.

In my opinion. The best thing to do, is to remove all their TCs and items (That is also done ATM). The players will take this hard because not only the money they got from the glitch disappeared. The money they had before they used it also disappeared.

In old times, there were really hard punishments such as torture. People did not do less crimes because of that.

I think that instead of punish the people that used the glitch, you should motivate them to report glitches next time. And give a players that reported a glitch an award.

For a conclusion. People are getting way to long bans. They will either quit Toribash or make an alternative account. Try to think in their situation too. They probably just want to ruin Toribash more because of the extreme punishment they got.
They deserve it for abusing a bug,if they did it only once they wouldn't deserve the bans, these players clearly don't care about toribash becasue at first they didn't report the bug(maybe they would have gotten an award for reporting it you never know),but they just kept getting tc in an illegal and that was a stupid action.
gerasa6: Everyone that used the glitch gets banned for 2 years. The ones that just was a part of the trades will get unbanned.

I would like people to look at the things I wrote and not just say "They deserve it!".
Gorman: You need to add some information to that. Check my arguments and try to explain a bit more what you thing. Same thing for everyone else.
But Nabi made them able to abuse it. Even if Nabi didn't know about the bug it was still they that made it possible. I'm sure it's possible to make a duel system without glitches. If a game can be abused, it will be abused. Of course the best thing to do is to report it. But more than 50% of the people that would know about it would abuse it, meaning that if everyone in Toribash knew about it, over 50% would get banned. And that is just crazy.

The few members that knew about it got to know it randomly. So it's kinda the same thing as random banning the majority of people.
Calm down people. Anyone who doesn't deserve to be banned will be taken care of. As for the people who abused the glitch, they made their bed, they can lie in it now. If they were really getting "millions" of credits, it should have been obvious to them that something was wrong and that someone should be informed, instead of exploiting the problem, they should have let someone know.

Having their account banned really isn't that severe of a punishment when you consider that they were stealing (if it was millions of credits) anywhere from hundreds to thousands of dollars worth of Toricredits, which are a product. Like avwave said, if they REALLY wanted to be dicks they could get the FBI to find the people and charge them with Grand Theft (in the U.S. anything stolen worth more than four hundred dollars) which is a felony :|

They dont, because its just a damn video game, the people doing it are kids, and they probably on some level want the people to make a new account.

The most of the people that replied to this thread is disagreeing with me. So I see no point trying to come up with new arguments. I'm pretty sure I cannot change this. Further discussion from other people would be appreciated. But I feel I'm not coming anywhere with this and I do not want to start a fight about it.

Kadan: The things you said can be discussed. The things that I said can also be discussed. The majority agrees with similar statements to yours and I'm pretty sure I can't convince the majority to change their minds.
