Boy bludgeons father over a video game
http://www.destructoid.com/boy-banne...h-171193.phtml

After his dad confiscated his keyboard in an attempt to stop his constant playing, the 14 year-old waited until his father fell asleep and hammered him to death. After his terrified mother gave him the keyboard back, he calmly went back to the game.

....Sick idiots like this is the reason why we have people like Jack Thompson.
The kid should be put down. As for games....i don't know. Maybe a higher minimum age.

Some games can be as psychologically addictive as any chemical, and all are relatively easily accessible to any kid.
this is crazy scary. i knew people were addicted to video games but this is the first ive heard about killing. O_O
i think games will someday kill us all. =\

This kid would have killed his father regardless of whether or not is was over video games. He probably had a very severe chemical imbalance in his brain, or a given piece of it just doesn't work. Or he is just one of those fluke sociopaths who simply cannot grasp reality and there for kill people. Either way its not the games fault.

Yes, they can.....Never known 2 brothers with completely different personalities?
A lot depends on genetic make-up. A lot also depends on how one is raised.
To people whose 30+ posts i just deleted: discussion topics are not instant messaging programs. If you have a lot to say/ask, put it in one post. Likewise, make sure it's on-topic.
hrrrmm... i like to believe in people and such, howver there are limits to what i can accept as tolerable ignorance.

games, while they can have a minor influence on the behaviour of an individual are not responsible for the mental condition of the player ,other factors have to be taken into account, i cant be assed listing all of them cause that will take forever so il let you work them out for yourselves.
this is an extreme example of gaming gone wrong and i will be surprised if the kid isnt diagnosed with some unfortunate psychological condition.

its still is upsetting though and i feel sorry for the kid
