Before you all go "hurp durp, it's Odlov with another anti-religious thread" let me just say that I am well aware that most muslims can and do take criticism perfectly fine. However, that does little to remedy the fact that there are insecure radical prunes among them who can't so much as handle a joke. It's those people this thread is about - so try to avoid sweeping generalizations or risk infraction.

My stance on the issue is pretty clear....I don't think ANYTHING in the universe should be above criticism and/or parody. These nutjobs justify their threats with "freedom of speech", when it's exactly freedom of speech they are trying to prevent. If anything happens to Matt and Trey, major shit will hit the fan. I just hope western media will stop taking it up the rear end to comply with people like these.

I noticed in the new episode tonight that they bleeped out Mohammed's name every time they said it. so I'm pretty sure it's a response to the threat, while still going through with the episode. Also, in the new episode, it turned out it was santa and not mohammed in the bear costume

Ok, Do you see black people or mexicans protesting? no. They're getting mad about a cartoon.

I'm sure finding her name written on a note under a knife which was repeatedly stuck into her friend's chest didn't improve her outlook on muslims either.

Well then, maybe those people should get the hell out of a country that values freedom of speech and expression, and move to an oppressive theocracy of their choice.

I myself was born in a country completely intolerant to criticism or mockery of it's institutions (USSR), so i would know.


Fair enough, but let's be honest: he is far from being the only psychopath motivated by this "religious righteousness". From rioters against Danish cartoonists, to these guys - there are enough people responsible for making western image of Islam what it is.

This is about a death threat, not a lawsuit.

I'm sorry that Comedy Central has no spine and is now accommodating these lunatics. This phenomenon will never be remedied if western media doesn't grow a pair of balls.

i just think you have to watch southpark with a pinch of salt, dont take it to seriously or this happens... they take the piss out of everyone and no1 else has threatened them with death O.o
