im a cyclist and i always cycle with my little brother and my dad on the road. each of us have helmets and we wear gloves to give us protection if anything happens. see, you should always put the weak cyclist in the middle so that you can keep a close eye on him/her, second, DO NOT over take him/her when you are riding on the road because you might not be able to see cars coming. and you were right, wearing a helmet saves your life. i had an accident once on the road, i tried to do a wheelie on my bike by pedaling fast towards a hump and pull the handlebar up but i failed to do so so i fell sideways and hit my head on the rough road, sliding helplessly down the slope and i've got big scars on my arms. luckily i wore my helmet, if not.....i'd be in the hospital.
