What the dyslexic dragon said: This is a trend that has been on the increase for the past 5-7 years. A program that does some diminutive task fairly well enough to be installed on a myriad of machines as malware. Somewhat related are the programs that warn about "235879 threats found, click here to purchase full version and clean them".

Not directly, but as a side-effect. I have disassembled code that monitors any login activity, and reports the login credentials back to a bot that will do anything to exploit the login. In this case it would be more likely with a virus specifically written to target toribash accounts... which I haven't seen (yet).

Just leave them. If they aren't bothering anyone, nobody really cares.

As for freeing up names it just so happens that i've been thinking of creating a system for purging unused accounts. It's just a thought for now, though.
Already changed my pass from this. Thanks.
don't talk to me or my dudes ever again

While most users actually do not need to read this, as most of it is common sense, you'd be surprised at the stupid stuff you encounter from time to time when dealing with a decently sized userbase.

Nah. You won't get banned for having a different ip. Lots of people check the forums from work and such so it's not an issue. If you display concerns that you think you have been hacked, staff can keep an eye on the ip for you.
I feel ashamed to live on the same reality as whoever did such a retarded thing.
Seriously?
What kind of retard would put their username as their password?

I've seen a bunch of people logging into multiple websites (including Toribash) by entering their username, select the password gap and enter a bunch of numbers.

A little technique I like to use is create a password, invert it, save in notepad. And if you are not the only user in the computer, lock it with some free folder locking software.

I also think this is a nice technique:

Think of a long phrase, put it in notepad, get out the initial letters of each word and you have a new password.
oh yeah
