Ushio and tora is my favorite manga, there is lots of silly shit going on but i really like the way that the characters feel, its actually pretty well written which is relatively rare from a manga artist (being able to draw=/= mean you can write a decent story) Although the story comes from the stock japanese mythology it has a pretty nice take on it and incorporates elements into the story from china and the west.
While it does tend to go for 'the monster of the week' style for a bit until it finds its feet in the main story its well worth reading, because, its, like, awesome. All of it.

Damn, it is awesome. Still brings back the outstanding elements that made Bakemonogatari enjoyable.
If you liked the first season, start watching it now. Take this from someone who rewatched Amagami SS a bit too much.
The reason I'm not watching already is because I don't enjoy watching in-progress anime - I get to the most recent episode, then don't watch for a bit and forget what episode I was on.
