If you know how to play, you can easily turn contracted wrist to a disadvantage.
I don't really know how to explain, but...By ungrabbing and grabbing again after a few frames you can create such a strong pressure that your opponent won't be even able to move. I still can't see how they are wrong...Well maybe it's just a question of what do you think is wrong and right.
In a situation like that yes.(Oh and William lowered his arm, that kinda helped you to make a turnover and your leg didn't dq.) But why William didn't go for grab? He just lowered his arm making him an easy target for a turnover or a lift.
And turnover is not always a good choice. You can't just go for it every single time, it simply will not work.
Well I will stop spamming this thread now, if you want to discuss it Snake, let's keep it to pm's.
and rigth before that you posted a replay countering a shovel with a...wait for it.... clap, and you just lifted him, and you tell us to "learn to play", theres no skill, you learn to do that when your a green belt that got shoveled to many times.
(on the same post)his actually rigth, shoveling and double grabbing doesnt allow you to move your tori or do anything agaisnt it hence the match not being interesting
i can honestly say this was mfw i saw this.
and what?
oh and btw , excluding the replay with William, what belt where those guys in those replays? "< brown" ?
aaannd if you made this a discussion on the rigth board instead of this, it would be the smarter thing.
also, inb4 someone makes a "wehatelenshu3.tbmcuzithasgrabsandlenshuisn00bwith grabz" tread

Well i see your rather civilized, but this things are just a point of view and prefering to play tori in a certain way, thats why there are a shit ton of mods for it so people play whatever they want.
It wouldnīt be conclusive continuing this "point the better thing" fest, we just have diferent playing styles that all.
I do not agree why canīt one contract their wrists on the first turn, i see nothing wrong with it
why contracting wrists is gay and can't be considered as fairplay
it is bad if you use such a negative way to teach people the other way, why not the "Finess at aikido org" or the "How aikido should be org" not all "Anti-BD ,BD haters org".
Replays: Well, this one isn't that great, but it was the only replay I made within the last 20 minutes that DIDN'T glitch.
Besides if aikido isnt about useing ur opponents force to disarm him and/or win, i just see a valid clap counter there from an aikido player trying to counter a clap, and there are other places more exposed when one does the contract elbow and wrist movement.
But why do you consider this unfair if its a way to get you more constricted then a clap? that wouldnīt even happen if you didnīt clap the "wrists contracting uke"
and besides the person isnīt cheating nor hacking just useing the functions that the game itself presented, how can such be consider foulplay.
If you clap and constrict their hands, how can it be fair for the other guy to actually move or do anything? Since he canīt simply avoid the grab like in real life.
You shouldnīt shun a movement that makes your useless.
well first off, abt the wrists, if u dont clap he isnt going to grab you like that, second of after that, you can, 2nd turn ungrab contract your wrists , 3rd turn grab, 4th turn ungrab, since his wrist joint is so exposed you can actually apply enough stress to it so it unbreaks.
Since every newcomer on toribash will just push everyone and destroy everyone, and not even be preocupied with the safety of Uke, and since little number what this no contract thing turnover counter thing to work,
why dont you simply make you own mod, and then present it to the comunity ? its much more easyer, and i promise i would give it a try.
i see there are mods which alrdy fullfill your needs, why not just promote them and stop this evil crusade agaisnt BD?
And at the end of it when i start toribash and see me danceing or sparing with someone on the BG i like it.
First of all, when using contracted wrists...Your opponent ALWAYS gets more points which is a disadvantage already.(Example 1, look at points).
Secondly, extended(ungrabbed) wrists makes it immpossible to suplex because your opponent is not able to extend his wrists NO MATTER what he does. It'll always work if you know what you're doing.(Example two, opponent extended wrists at 360 frame, didn't work, I of course did change several joints every frame.)
As shown in Example number two, in situation of 'falling' extended wrists ARE ALWAYS better because there is a longer distance between your elbows and couldn't say the same about the contracted ones. (Example number two)
Since your elbows are closer to the ground, it means it is WAY easier to dq you.
Let's move to the pressure part. As shown in Example number two opponent in a very hard position because of his elbows. Creating pressure requires some skills actually. The pressure wasn't very strong in this case, but was enough to put opponent in trouble. It is possible to save it in that sitution(I was too lazy to edit the replay and make it impossible to save) but you get my point.
In a few particular situations(Example number 1, last few frames(last spin)) it is very good that your wrists are OUTSIDE. As you can see, there is nothing your opponent can do to prevent dq and that is just because OF CONTRACTED WRISTS.
There are a few more advantages that I'm too lazy to tell about, but I hop that I proved my point.
No doubt, there are a lot of disadvantages of extended wrists as well...Both openers have their own pros and cons...And you just can't change that.
Doesn't matter which tactic you use, if you know how to play, you WILL ALWAYS find a way to beat your opponent. That's it.
why contracting wrists is gay and can't be considered as fairplay
I find aikido to be one of the most idiotic and annoying mods(and judo ofc). It is impossible to make that mod fun because OF MANY, MANY reasons...The dojo is just too small to do anything.
The dojo is just too small for you to do anything?
here is nograb at classic aikido and even with comebacks on that small dojo.
