Toribash
Original Post
Let's make Toribash known
There are only a few toribsh players left, and fewer are those who seriously play Toribash(I reffer both to the 3d game and the forum)
So, what if all of us would advertise toribash on every website or video on youtube? or simply tell our freinds about it. What do you think?
I remember there being some wibbles thread where you had to make a sign about toribash and put it up in public, then take a photo of it and post the photo. Without breaking any laws of course. That's always fun.
What do u mean few? There is always at least 80-100 ppl online. depending of the time of the day, sometimes even more.
I agree that its not much if we compare Toribash to some other Online Multiplayer games, but Toribash is specific product. And that number is not the whole community, it's much, much bigger.

And don't compare game with the forum. Many players lower their in game activity and increased forum activity. So, it looks like we don't have big 'in-game' population, but its there.

I agree that Toribash need better promotion. But, game is, as I said, specific. Either you like it or not, and u form that opinion very quickly, which is kinda bad, since you don't have time to accustom to its 'specificness' .
With steep learning curve, aseptically-plain graphic and turn-based gameplay, Toribash, in its roots, is made for ppl with 'strange' tastes.

I told about Toribash to many ppl, but when they tried it, all I got from them is a strange look.
The ''what the fuck is wrong with you?'' look. XD
Its hard to explain.
Bad idea for obvious reasons that I shouldn't have to site them.

this persons opinion is invalid because people leave and need to be replaced, the inflow of people should be greater than or equal to the inactivity flow. Also i really doubt less real money purchases is a bad thing for toribash, as new players generally want to purchase nice things, and if it costs real money to buy nice things then they may spend it.

on another note I've only ever gotten 3 people to seriously play toribash(blue belt+) but they eventually got bored of it because they didnt care about forums or irc and lets be honest there are only so many things you can do with a ragdoll before it gets repetitive and annoying, while the same is true of COD some people like flashy graphics and such more than skill. I personnally still find it fun after so many years and this is the only game i still actively play.

I can understand how some players join the game, play for a day and leave. The learning curve is pretty steep and it's almost a bit demoralizing when you start up the game and some crazy replay pops up. Granted: there are beginner servers and stuff but if the game doesn't immediately grab the player then they will likely not stay long.

What do you mean 'find more players', we don't hire people to play the game.

Deleting used accounts would be very messy.

What if hey had decided to come back?

There's no way to determine if a user is really gone for good, even if they say they are.
BAD LUCK
Very true firebolty.
I mean, look at noweb, a friend showed me his videos and the Urban clan videos and from that point on i wanted to play and get good, and now after years of inactivity he's back.
Toribash always just lurks on your computer if you "quit", and 90% of people come crawling back at some point or another.
I know i have.

Back on topic (well more on topic that that), i'm not sure toribash is getting less people, i see new people ingame everyday.
And Solax made a very good point about the learning curve, it's so steep it just makes people give up a lot of the time, that's what happened with most of my friends.

Yeah, I only don't like erthtkv2 because of the mod's name. Make it "tkv2," and the mod will instantly become more popular. This is a valid reason as the name of the mod is still an important feature that no one seems to have yet discussed.
