Instead of moving the thread, you select the two thread, and you click on the "Merge Thread" option. After you've done this, you select the "Leave No Redirect" and continue from there. Otherwise, if you decide to just "move" the thread into another thread the evidence of that thread still exists, and still takes up space on the board.
