Continuing from the application thread conversation... Thanks Large. I have heard of Goenka retreats. I will likely attend one after my Novice ordination in Dec. I have been living in temple for 2 years now. We are opening a new meditation center in Beaumont, TX. Come by if you are ever in the area. =D

P0int, you should know that for Western, philosophy is something purely theoretical, they study it, talk about it, but do not apply it. Most of us can not even imagine that philosophy is an art of living to lead us to our own divinity.
As a scientist, most of us are afraid of what he is incapable of seeing and prefer to look for evidence in the unprovable rather than feel, experience inner truth. Reminds me of a passage in a Veda :
Life is not a problem to be solved but a reality to experience.
They are proud of their mind. However, the first thing to understand is that we are not our minds, our mind control us most of the time and we identify ourself as him. (i suck at english, i wonder you'll understand that )
mocucha you talk about that there is no free will rigth? i s a fact. cause and effect.
im not sure if i get the idea of the post... My philosophy is to understand the existence, and I understand that this is eternal and infinite, each atom is made of infinity. and everything is possible because in "nothing" do not need an event to happen.
