Suggestions for 4.3 - e-sports release
Hi,
I'm working on the new 4.3 version, the release is focused on features that make tournaments, duels and spectating more exciting, easier to use.
Currently I have on my todo:
- Ingame opener stats (first use, name, win ratio, who found it first)
- Naming of openers used (if you create a new opener, you can also name it)
- Ingame player stats (join date, games played, win ratio etc)
- Mouse over on joint stats (how close to breaking was the join, how much damage did it take)
- Pause tournament or duel (ops can pause a current match)
- /decaprize 1000
"hampa has added a 1000 TC prize for decapitation"
+ the usual bug fixes and tweaks.
If you have any other competitive features, please post in this thread.

I realize this will be a bit of an optimist post, I realize most of the suggestions might not get in.But, doesn't mean I shouldn't suggest them :P.Some of the stuff might have been suggested before, but since this post wants to sell a new image of the game, I might write it anyway.Presentation is and should be important for toribash, so I'll put in some suggestions for that as well as other stuff that will actually be nice for e-sports etc..
Number one: A decent intro to the game.This is really something that is essential for game presentation.A showing of Nabi's logo in a classy manner + maybe a cinematic showing of toribash whoop ass!
Number two:Oh,the main interface of this game is so appalling.And, their are manners to customize it(thanks to hampa), but why not make a better one!A change of look would be great!
Free play will always be free play.
But I guess maybe subdivide Multiplayer into Duels, tournies, official rooms, and normal ones.What would actually be more decent, is having multiplayer open up the server list, and having a series of options to check or uncheck that will smoothen your room searching!
So basically, you can choose between:
-unofficial rooms, tournies, duels, official rooms(would be nice to automatically filter out the rooms you can't join there)
-password: yes/no
-minimum belt/maximum belt
-pause function yes/no
Remove the matchmaking thingy if it's not working, just a waste of space.
Number three:Let's enhance the dueling experience for once.And I want interface!Fuck commands.
Pictures will come soon.But when setting up a dueling server or servers at all, I'd like to have a better experience.
When you press the create a room button, you will have some options.
The first will be what kind of server you'd like to create.I guess we have three types of rooms.I'd like to suggest another one soon too.
So anyway, you choose the dueling server option.You will then be projected elegantly with a set of options.I have a few in mind other than the usual ones for normal rooms:
-pause function:yes/no
-duel tc(the default duel amount when the server starts)
-allowing item duels: yes/no
What would be neat as well in a dueling server is that you can offer items to duel for..for some tc or just other items.For this to happen though, both players have to agree on what to duel on.Once again, I emphasize and hope their would actually be an interface that is shown where you could pick out stuff from your deactivate inventory(and you could see what the other guy's picking simultaneously).To activate such a mode, I guess we can have a button that will switch duel mode from the normal one to the other one I just described.Let's call it "awdomwo"(will think about it later).
An introduction before the actual fight.Such as, "William is dueling snake for 1000toricredits" or anything else.Much more stuff will come here later.

The options that are available are:Sort replays by mod.For example, "nicecomeback-wushu.tbm".Or just have them auto organized in separate folders.
The ability to create folders(inclient!fuck having to go the game folder to create folders and arrange replays), add replays into folders, and delete them too.All would hopefully make the replay experience much more fun.
Now for actually watching the replay!
A smooth slow motion effect would be sweet.A fast forward function would be awesome as well.An interface for jumping to a certain frame.More cameras, ability to add backgrounds(non interacting objects for the looks).The ability to attach music with a certain replay(though that might be pushing it a bit :P).
What I'd like to have as well is a replay center.So, you get to the replay center, and what do you see.An innovative interface showing you "who uploaded replays recently"(of your friends of course).When you click on the replay, you get to see it directly.And, my suggestion here would be to sort those replays by each player's name(by folders).
Now, what I would like as well in this replay center is auto sync(if you've seen dropbox work, it directly syncs if someone added a file to the folder, that is kind of how I want the replay center to work).
I also want a whole level of presentation added to the replays.And, people need to work on it as well.After you make the replay, you can attach music.You can as well create the smooth camera work(which is kind of possible right now).I also want a user-friendly background creator!You would mainly have a set of pre-made objects that you could choose, you may change color etc..
That would make watching, and checking out replays so much better imo.

Room type number 1:This room type works just like official server, but it is user created!So, a user will have the option of creating a room that awards x amount of tc for the winner.You will have options such as "cap amount of tc given", and "amount of tc per win".Autoop for the creator imo is a necessity always.(it can be checked or unchecked I guess).
Number six:Room statistics!
Once again, I saw fuck commands.You press a button which is located conveniently somewhere, and you get a bunch of interesting statistics for the room, maybe some pie charts and graphs?Statistics such as "Top 10 players in this room"(according to wins) "Top 5mods" "Fastest win"(with corresponding mod) "Fastest Dq", "Most Decaps", "the person with most fracced joints"...you get the flow of this...Plenty of MORE INTERESTING STUFF.
Number seven: An sleek ingame reporting system!You assign a button as the report button.Then, when you want to report someone, you click on that button, and you select the part of the chat which you want to report.What the Gm or any admin will receive is a report with the chat you selected, and the whole chat of that room(I guess that is taken from the server or something).Also, since we're making all duels automated, and we have something called safetrade. Stop dealing with duel scams, and just regular scams overall.
Number eight: I don't know the possibility of this suggestion, but will put it in anyway.In tournies, something that would speed up the process is the ability to play more than one game at a time.So, the bracket would progress faster.You can choose to watch the two matches at the same if you're PC can handle it.Or just watch one of the matches.Also, in the tournies.
Number nine: Maybe as well a "create a tourney function..making it easier for anyone to create a tourney!Well you only have to moderate the channel for flaming etc...
So first, you assign the prize for first place,second place etc...You assign the number of people you want in the tourney..and what should be written on the global or maybe a sort feature so that people can only check the tourney servers!That would be immense as well.Maybe the auto global can be free which would encourage people to make more tournies. Minimum belt feature and a maximum one for sure.Just make it user-friendly since that's the whole point of it..instead of using a bunch of commands..and the advantage is that it's preset.

How about keeping a record of those tournies so that anyone can watch them at any given time!So, basically, you press on the Tournies replay.You are projected with the tourney bracket.You have the option to play the tourney, or just watch the finals etc...It kinda works similar to replay center.You get to see the tournies..your friends took part in.And, you also get to see all tournies overall.A seperate ranking for tournies would be sweet as well."Tournies won" blablabla
Lots of more suggestions in my head but for now...It would be nice to have a gamechanger organization or something similar to that(like in EA forums).If this game will be presented to the public, then much more presentation improvements will be needed.Yes, the gameplay is tough..no one is denying that..but making the experience better will definitely attract more people.
