Base makes the large rotations, the top makes the fine adjustments, the guns rotate up and down.

If you mean barrel vents, they are right there on the sides.

By using different motors... You do know that there are more than just one kind of motor right?
The bottom one is more rough and fast, doesn't really do any precise aiming, just to get the gun aligned as fast as possible in the right direction, at the same time the top part do the fine tuning using a servo motor.

Well I have made some industrial things before, but I never thought of making a series of them... hm hm
