In a replay, it would be nice to have the slow motion effect apply to the same principle of major impacts. Maybe something like Bez Cam can be incorporated with that.

What I don't understand is that, game has particle system, and yet when you punch someone really hard, there is no 'effect' of the punch.

I can elaborate more with mock-up screen shots if you didn't understood what I'm talking about...
There is no effect when someone is punched or kicked anyway. Am I interpreting this right? By "effect" you mean like maybe a emphasizing the impact? I think it would make the game too confusing though if those little displays were going off all at once.

well, I do understand what you mean. It could be something like sparks that explode off the body when it gets the impact. I think the realism would diminish however. Like, it would become too cartoon-ish.

Why load the replay online? Also, there's currently a jump to frame script. So far it stops the replay at a certain frame for you but when the replay speed functionality is implemented with (hopefully) 4.4 it should probably be possible to just skip the replay super fast to a certain frame.

Cause let's say you fucked up or you couldn't continue the replay cause you pinged or something. Or you simply don't have enough time..thought that was quite obvious :P.

oh and nut, about the replay functionality..it wrote it before hampa released 4.4..so i'll be sorting those out and deleting them+ I wasn't aware that you can create your own atmosphere script which is pretty damn cool.

and also fan favorites that would work, like bust3rs "smile" or mocuchas "largekilla" vid
Pretty much said it. Although Mocucha is hated throughout the community for the fame he gets with the cheap editing I'll admit that is it highly watchable. Would be nice if others then Mocucha did these kind of story videos and maybe the people would cool down.

i do agree though that a new official/semi official vid would be ideal though.
You didn't hear this from me, but there's something going on atm ;)

upgrading through the steam greenlight program would be fantastic, ive expressed similar sentiment towards that, think i made a thread about it a while ago or posted in one or something, cant remember.
basically, if toribash wants to get out of this "12 year olds who google ragdoll fighters" phase, then greenlight is the only way to do that.
we have the userbase to get through the voting stages.
Indeed. Seems like pretty much everyone is agreeing though and I'm not seeing progress so I guess there's some other problem that doesn't depend on how good of an idea it is.

also from the art side, in GATA, we were busy working on a ingame texture creator, called WalmART ( http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e8...rtnoshadow.png ), using preset elements, like eyes and mouths and stuff, also having a selection of premade texture sets.
We had the go ahead from hampa and the devs, and they would code for it if we provided the sets and premade elements.

in typical fashion though, that never happened.
That aside, I dont feel as if the premade elements isnt something nabi couldnt mock up in a day.
And if a game like trackmania has the ingame texturer, then so should we.
Looks good but Imo Gimp does it's job very nicely. Don't get me wrong though, I don't know shit about drawing.

The suggestion for the Gimp styled gui sounds awesome, I'd totally love to have separate windows floating around, could be a problem for those who use fullscreen resolutions though.
I don't agree that it'd be nice but since it would be toggleable my opinion doesn't really matter.

Would love to have more of the usermade scripts, mods and interfaces to be integrated into the game, like Nirs' markmOd and bescam.
or atleast the idea of it.
silly things that should have been included anyway.
Someone should totaly make a list for these things so Hampa won't have to scavenge the whole forum for things. /me winks at BenDover
Also on board for a simple, SKIPABLE intro, just like a "kick kick" <insert Nabi logo> <insert Toribash logo> type thing
Feels like having the logo come up in a corner and maybe be transparent then disappear after some seconds would be a more creative and unique/stylish solution. But yeah if it doesn't hinder the fast startups at all then I'm all for it.

Would love to have more options from static servers, maybe even clan servers again.
clan servers could be simple, there are too many to have all of them permenantly open, but choosing from a list, and having it created then, with the preset clan settings, shouldnt be too difficult.
I don't understand this idea. Newfag here so idk if this was a thing before either.

I think volunteers are the best. The have the knowledge, experience and incredible interest for Toribash which makes them highly valuable. If there's a lack of them though I bet the Steam greenlight should bring in fresh meat.
Also putting strains on things is a stupid idea. There'd be no Jesus-copter.tbm and certainly no Torisex.tbm.

Indeed. Would be neat with a miniature box and a shortkey for it (like the shader window) but it's not really needed after the these new betas.

Nice lurking skills you got there. I liek it.

Normally when I used to have duels it has never been one match. There should be some command which starts a 'first to x wins' match between the two players currently playing.
I imagine this would bring some sort of "tricking" factor into the whole thing Sounds like a great idea.

Atmosphere script? You can even make your own.
http://forum.toribash.com/showthread.php?t=162608
If that's too many scripts to run for you, here's an autostart script which autostarts itself.

I agree. We should update our first page to fit things that are answered like this.

In my opinion the current mod maker is quite good. The basics are very easy to understand. Once you spend more than 10 minutes on it you shouldn't have that much trouble with it. A link with a tutorial next to it would probably be nice.

Use some mods/atmospheres. Toribashs strength has always been the customizability. There are probably already user made solutions for almost every reasonable and scriptable suggestion. This high customizability has the downside of an overwhelming amount of mods/scripts/replays/whatever. There's a lot of crap in it but some very awesome things, too.
Unfortunately there aren't any possibilities to search through them, sort them or categorize them properly yet.
Currently it's just a overfilled junk of stuff with a few awesome pieces which are way too hard to find.
Yeah hopefully someone is working on sorting this out. since there's not really many scripts added in a month it shouldn't (hopefully) be too painful.
About the mods/backgrounds: The only thing to improve would be to make objects less computer-power-demanding-ish-asfdghjuk.

What else I'd like is an option to save the replay including the mod/atmosphere data. So I don't have to upload/share it, too.
For me, Atmosphere + a decent mod will create major lag (Actually freezes sometimes with the new object limit for mods) and I have a quite nice computer.

What is this "particle system" you talk off? The flame thingie? Because if you want stuff to fly off you'd have to make quite the equation for it to obtain the bodyparts momentum and rotation. Plus, adding effects to critical hits might be easy in your mind but actually writing down what defines it is much harder.

I got the same problem. You'll have to keep trying and spend a lot of time editing and reading through what you wrote

I think this is more of a wet dream (not imo though but still) then a good suggestion.
We should try to prioritize thing too instead of just wildly suggesting.

is it? look at how often toribash voluneer staff change (alot) lfor example gms, mods, smods whatever. you can't and shoud not expect people to work for free and assume that they will be motivated. any work deserve payment. you would understand it if you ever was employed or was tb staff member like gm or smod.when hobby becomes a job with obligatoies and you don't get money for that, you abandon it.

it's actually great. all approved mods are probably great quality and they are being added to auto dl mods list and you get it by default. to play mods like torisex etc(unofficial) you need to manually c/p it to your mods folder from forum thread, and these mods dont end up in auto dl unless they were approved as official mods. in the end we will get quality mods and mod list would not be spammed with shit. everything will be rather easy to cathegorise etc

Why is that bad? From what I see there's no harm done at all. And there's really only the lower ranks who are moved around more freely. There's no rash decision being made here either when accepting someone.

you can't and should not expect people to work for free and assume that they will be motivated.
According to what? I mean I don't want to be a "Source-fag" ;P but there's no preset rules like that.
Ofc you can't put a new player, random forumite or Jesus behind the wheel, expecting to get good results but that's not what's being done. People are motivated way before they think about trying out for Gm.

No, that's not true at all. I am leading a (extremely active) clan with 20+ members alone. I have things to do everyday, such as reading all (These are from 15:00 to now. Blue ones came while I was typing this.) posts, Remove spam, Update clan-stats, Plan events, Talk between people to make sure things are talked about and sometimes hang out with the members I so dearly like to keep a close relationship. My point is, Yes I do know what you're talking about and if I myself feel able to do this for free (Not for fun) then I believe in the possibility of there being someone who'd enjoy greatly to do more work then me for the same price with way better quality.

when hobby becomes a job with obligatoires and you don't get money for that, you abandon it.

Nooop. Some do, I don't. Our proof would be BenDover, who just said he administrates the art board. That's something that has to be done once the offer is accepted, Right? (Not trying to be snazzy at all. I really don't know.)

Mm yeah I see your point. I don't think we'd have to delete all weird mods though but rather highlight those of good quality somewhere either on forums or in-game since it's just text and doesn't affect your computer storage thingie but only the size of your mod-list.

Also just to clarify, I'm not mad or whatever here. Just see my harsher (I guess?) replies as stronger opinions.

because it's your clan, you like it and want to keep it up.
reply stays the same - you will understand as soon as you will get employed.

how long person can work for free? most of gms live around 2-3 months, smods up to half year i guess.
thats a job, and belive me, i do less volume of work right now employed then i was doing for clan / community for free. just to think about it. any work deserve payment is a rule of healthy business. working for free is scam.
