Sadly, yes that is a pretty accurate statement. Even in highschool the history of other country's is pretty brief (I only made it 10th grade though, so it could be more in depth later on). Geography is pretty much left up to the student to pick up. As much as I hate to admit this, I didn't know until about a year ago what the U.K. consisted of.
and Im 25. But again, its only because I personally never took the time to learn, not that the info isnt readily available from 5th grade and up or so.However once you get into college your pretty much expected to know American history i think and the focus shifts to the rest of the world. It sucks, but Americas public schools are pretty terrible.
It COULD be worse though, in North Korea they probably only learn that North Korea is the supreme excellent nation, and that Kim Jong Il (spelled wrong) is the supreme excellent leader.

I dunno about you guys, but where I went to school we started all that in 5th grade. If you didn't do that when you were there, that doesn't mean that all of america didn't.

And yeah...what do you want me to do, get my banhammer and hit all those fuckers in the face with it? well first of all I do not know all teh idenities of all the people involoved and even before I could take care of a single one of them I would most cirtianly be caught. the best thing I can do is try to spred the word discretly.
I suppose I am too lazy to dig up any "evidence" on the subject, also I know that no matter what facts I post here you will ultimately have something to counter them which you will believe regardless of its validity or the likelihood of it being even remotely possible. Honestly Ive been in to many "Im right and your wrong and here is why" debates to try and sway you.
As for what you can do, I have no clue, I'm not the one saying anything needs to be done. However I know for a fact that posting things and "spreading the word" wont do anything if you guys are all too scared to take any action. In the words of Stephen Colbert "How can we protest an abuse of authority when people in authority are telling us not to."
