Before I get told to put this into gaming-chat, this is really more about the toribash community as opposed to just gaming in general.

Throughout the amount of games and forums I've been playing for the last 5 years; Toribash seems to have the most ignorant and annoying attitude with it's community when it comes to other games.
For example, I made a Jojo:ASB thread a couple of weeks ago to see if anyone else would be interested in a new Jojo's bizarre adventure game, seeing as it's probably the longest running manga ever(1987-2004-2011?). However I got messages from people who were raving about it constantly - and I quote;

It seems that these kinds of retards are all over toribash and any fighting games discussion about toribash. They will constantly say the same shit "Toribash is so unique, you can do anything!"
Then they'll amount any fighting game to just shit because toribash is masterrace fighting game; according to them.
Another good example of tori-ignorance(As I will call it); is the comments on the persona games:
"how trilling, isnt this like a wannabe version of final fantasy?" which I will now refrain from posting any more quotes before I break my fist punichng the monitor in anger.

Anyways, does anyone else think this is a legitimate problem with most toribash fans, or is it just a small minority that seems to interact the most in this way?

it is just like in every other game.
if u got into the World of Warcraft forums and make a thread about another MMORPG u get bitched too.
if u go into another MMORPG forum and make a thread about World of Warcraft u get bitched too.

it is because the people like their game, and think everything which is similar too it, is just bad, because they like the game.
some people are ignorant like that.

so i would agree with sid that youre the problem. u could have expected these reactions. because it is ALWAYS like that. not only in toribash.

Again, after admitting to have no knowledge on the actual game. Assuming gameplay aspects and graphics from a trailer instead of actually discussing story mode, and the character roster as it developed, because I assumed Toribash had an older fanbase.

Correction; 3 people like persona. The rest just ignore it and call it a final fantasy copy-pasta.

But seriously, it seems everyone on Toribash has never played another fighting game(At-least competitively) and just accepted it for what it is. Because really they don't know much other fighting games then Street fighter or Mortal kombat.

Difference is; they bring an actual argument to the table instead of spamming "generic lulz". The minority seems to do that. I'm a multi-gamer, so I just have 100+ bought games on my steam alone, and probably 100+ more when I was on Xfire.
So, I guess I would know how most communities work, or have an idea of how they do because of the amount of games I've played.

No, it pretty much isn't like that if you go to decent forums or official ones put up by the gaming companies.
But anyways, you're both making an appeal to popularity(tradition in this case?) fallacy here. So I'm not seeing any legitimate arguments here.

This just looks like you're bitching about people not liking a product you like. Not everyone is going to like whatever you bring up. Also I did look at the thread you put up and it's gameplay, it really does look a lot like street fighter 4.

Don't know what you're talking about, but in my 17 years of casual and hardcore gaming out of my 21 something years, I haven't played a game quite like Toribash.

I think you really just want to argue with people at this point. Everybody was saying their thoughts on the game, everyone can have their opinion. Personally I love Persona, the original was fun as hell, and I still claim that Star Ocean the second story is the best game that I have ever played. People are allowed to like and dislike things and make their thoughts known. Especially in a discussion thread. Your job as the poster of the thread is that you can handle other people's opinions, not argue about their opinion with them.
