GUI and other stuff
when we will get friends GUI?..

you implemented adding friends but it's useless when you don't have a friends list.

that not 100% necessary tbh

what greenlight we even talk about if to do the simpliest thing as show friends list you need to remember keystrokes?!

everything should be graphical and intuitiveor atleast most

I always thought people play games because of gameplay, not friendlists and GUI. Am I wrong?

if you're aiming for a higher playerbase, and to attract a greater playerbase ..you gotta have good presentation.

you can see the interface is pretty much empty. It would be better if we got rid of the ugly bounties texts as well, and put them in the info box directly. fonts could use a change as well.

exacly. game is uniqure and interesting, but it doesn't mean that it's intefrace should not be userfriendly.
the better UI is, the more understandable and usefull it is, the better.
if hamp don't give a shit about introducing new gameplay features he should atleast take care of UI to make it all look userfriendly atleast.

ideally it all should have BEEN DONE before greenlight, instead of being in plans.

but hey, as i told before - not my pocket.

btw the UI presented was made by Bojan ;p

quoting for truth
snake: okay, so this concept you're showing is good, no objections.
Question 1: has it been shown to anyone who's a dev? It's lying in that unofficial org, if it's always been there without being shown to anyone - well, you're great.
Question 2: do you realize how much do "modern games" 8OJ4A was talking about cost? No, really, stupid bullshit games with simple art are like hundreds of thousands of $. Donate them at once to creators and you'll get what you want. If you're ALL AGAINST giving any money to devs but willing to have a good looking game - you're 13.
Question 3: most of this is available to be done with ready-to-embed steam stuff. Why would you invent things which already exist?

before it was put on unofficial org it was at suggestions board, skull seen it all too. i used to pm/querry hamp couple of times with this and still nothing.

look at any indie game on steam and it's UI for refference. it doesn't cost hundrets of thousands by any means.

the problem is: i'v been here too long to be naive. for last 5 years game didn't changed at all. except ray-tracing which is horribly unoptimised.
the whole tendency of game and forums is that it's abandoned.

when the only game dev work on game on occasion, made a habbit to hire volunteer schoolboys to run torishop, forum development and pretty much everything, i do not think that donating a penny will change it. do i need to mention careless decision to bring tb on greenlight in current state?

i would love to donate, but only when i will see that game is not abandoned.

i do not understand this question. please clarify what do yuo mean exacly.

here
Third question was easy to understand. Why should devs do things which won't be needed when Toribash gets Greenlit? To remove them and use Source SDK instead? That's cool.

"I would love to donate but blablabla"
Things don't work like that. You donate first, things get done next. To get something done you have to pay devs. They don't work for free, you know. And to have something to pay them users should donate.

in all seriousness, how do you see implementation of steamworks?
i'm extremely curious about this and would like you to focus on this question. before i will make another witty remark.

to rephrase it it will work like this "i don't do shit now, but when you will pay me i sill surely do what you want"

it doesn't work like that, this is not a kickstarter. job getting done, job gettind paid for. money first? never.
