Toribash

GUI and other stuff
when we will get friends GUI?..

you implemented adding friends but it's useless when you don't have a friends list.

Good, show me a free to play game where you don't have to donate to play well which does have what you want.
(And it should also have people who play it, yes. And it should already exist, not be a "plan for future").
i think you missed the bold red text part i asked you to focus on.

in all seriousness, how do you see implementation of steamworks?
i'm extremely curious about this and would like you to focus on this question. before i will make another witty remark.

^ please answer this. it will bring alot more to discuss.

alien swarm
free to play with mp and dedicated servers

okay, it wasn't sir's reply but i will jump on this one anyway.

friends list and invitations
steamworks is not a magic placebo for everything and expecting it to work anywhere is just because it's steamworks is naive.
it's like "just add physx to solve everything" same assumption goes here: "throw steamworks in and it will magically work"

user id's will had to be bounded to steam id. imagine.

we can't get minor features and minor bug fixes for years and you are talking about such drastic thing as implementing steamworks.
did i mentioned servers?

there are few more moments regarding steamworks and toribash to be addressed, but i would like to wait for sir's response before voicing it.

K, let me speak siku's words. You just proved to be an idiot.
Alien Swarm is a Valve game, it costed much more than 98% of indie games including Toribash. You seriously don't think that Toribash has any chances of looking like it, do you?

Regarding steamworks, I'm nod a developer actually, so you'd better ask them.
But invitation system and friendslist could be easily integrated, that's what I'm almost sure.
Different accounts? Don't tell me you never heard of connecting different ones. Users with older accounts will be able to continue using their old ones which will be connected to their Steam profiles and newer players will create those which are based on their Steam account by default. That's just one way of implementation.

hey, you asked me to give an example and i did.
i can easily mention tons of source mods which are free to play and have no donate requirements. like

zombie panic
^ not valve's game btw.

it's not that easy..

do you honestly believe that hamp will actually even try to implement it?...
steamworks and steam play will never be implemented for toribash. i guarantee that.
not because i don't like tb, not because i'm negative, but because based on experience and time here i'm pretty sure nothing of what you are talking about will EVER be implemented, because it require devs to actually work for it and put an effort.

not are the qualities you would expect to see here? or would you?
objectively
Any source mod cannot be an example because it uses ready stuff. It's like a constructor where you only have to create your own textures and do a bit of modelling (if you really want your game to look unique, otherwise you can use stuff that's been already used in other games).

Only an idiot can give an example of a game like Alien Swarm to compare it with indie stuff. If I knew that there's a chance for you to say such hilarious bullshit, I would've also restricted you to indie-only games.

And yes, I believe that this will be implemented.

okay, let's say bootfighter.. also why so mad? my concerns have a ground while i see none for your ?optimism?

may be it have something to do with being staff member but can you really close your eyes on everything like that? if so, what makes you feel that something will ever change here? because i don't see it.
may be i will change my mind if i will see what makes you so sure, but for now it feels more like self-persuasion.

Installed it. Can't see its MP because it keeps saying "No connection" but even SP for such type of a game is horrible.
Moreover, it was made by more people than Toribash. Kobe Institute of Computing isn't 2 guys, not even 5.

I just don't like people who behave like if they have done so much that they can say that other's work is shit and doesn't worth a cent.
If you want to help in development, learn coding and send a CV to Nabi Studios. I'm sure a worthy coder won't be left behind.
If you want just to brag about your own awesomeness and will to "play a great game with kewl graphics and stuff" - do it on your clanboard.

Keep in mind who makes this game and try to estimate what could be made there. Toribash isn't put on Kickstarter or anywhere else where it could've collected money for development, it's a free game where you don't have to pay at all unless you want some features which won't make you better at gaming itself.
If you want to see this game as it is (in good meaning), be happy with smaller things getting implemented. If you want to have another Pay2Win game with lots of twelvies shouting all the way round - make everyone else want that, too. I don't think that Hampa will be against earning more money from this if the community has no objections.

I'm realistic. And you're trying to say that everything in Toribash is shit and your friends make great concepts (which they won't surely implement by themselves even if they start working at Nabi) and nobody listens to you.

sorry i'm employed already as slave at marketing dept, but thanks anyway.

where did i brag about my awesomness or actually mentioning myself?
i made a point. toribash needs proper UI. you disagree?

current economy is broken. i can bet that most of tb income is from tori-prime and vip instead of actual tc sells. you can check it on your own if you have an access to transactions. i have none but i bet so.
thats another topic for discussion. also the fact that core population are mostly consist of very underage children with no payability whatsoever and tb is the only game their glorified calculators and modem internet can handle. no offence here, you can do a survey and get this results. this is the reason why tb is bounded to low-end hardware. if it will be upgraded core population will no longer be able to play. my point is: why do you need a core population with zero payability? i see no logic here. if you are interested (most likely not) you can read it up on the very same org thread

err?.. bojan used to work for nabi for quite awhile
why so agressive? if you will continue to be "realistic" as you do now, by your actions you will simply continue to encourage dev(s) to slack

you surprise me, really

1. There are not. You haven't shown me any of them. Facts, facts.
2. The way you always make your posts is called bragging. You keep saying that "oh I used to believe in tb but now I'm cool and I see it's shit". I'd love to simply ban for this (just as most staff guys also do), but it's not an infractable behavior.
Game needs a simplified UI but it doesn't mean that this all can be done at once.
3. Economy shouldn't be a thing that concerns you. You're a player. You play.
With current economy state it's impossible to set up TC sales at the same price of what players set. And once again, you have to tell that to different people, not me.
4. Did Bojan help in implementing it in any way? Concept art is just concept art. I can spend some time drawing a superb concept of this game but it won't help in any way since there's not enough coders.

Devs are not encouraged to slack, moreover I cannot anyhow provoke them to continue doing nothing.
If the way hampa announces the game doesn't show everyone what's new there, it doesn't mean that there is nothing in it. This will probably be a thing I'll talk about, but saying things you have no idea about isn't what you should do.

That's it.
I don't feel like continuing talking in that thread, it's for the release, not our discussions, so I'm bringing it here.

I'd still love to see a game you know of that was created as free to play and didn't cost a fortune to get created. And, surely, was an indie project, not something from Valve or, I don't know, EA.

Copying it here as I made this thread after sending the PM.
