There is a very simple way to determine which martial arts are applicable in real combat and which aren't.
For example: There is no such thing as competitive aikido or wing tsun. You will never get wrist control on someone standing, so that makes aikido useless in real combat. And WT? That barrage of punches is the most useless thing you can do in a real fight. There is no power in short punches like that. And if WT or aikido is at all useful, then why aren't we seeing people use those techniques in mma and destroying people?
And killing someone with a single WT technique? That sounds very silly. If you wanted to kill someone, judo throw or a wrestling slam on concrete could do it. But not some silly kung-fu. If you see two chinese dudes fight, they won't use Tiger style, they will throw a jab, cross, hook, roundhouse kick, one will drag the other to the ground and land punches from the top.
Effective martial arts imo: Wrestling, Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and different kinds of kickboxing(Thai, American, Dutch, Chinese San-Shou, Karate, TKD etc.)
The best mma fighters train bjj, wrestling and kickboxing...
Nuff said I think... Sorry for OT
