[Music] DJPooki | OH GOD, NOT THIS GUY AGAIN

yeah, I'm using FL studio and other shit and blah blah blah blah blah

If I were to want to stick to a specific genre, It'd be Hip-Hop and House, so

yeah

Mind Funked is finished!

I'll be saving this thread for other music updates.

I'd like to hear anything of this sort:
~Collab requests from you talented musicians out there (FOR ME TO GET BETTER AND LEARN, OF COURSE)
~Nice, clean, CnC. I know cnc can and has to be a little harsh but, for the love of god, please don't pull a dick move. That just doesn't help me at all. kthxfornotbeingameanypants
~Sources to House and Hip-Hop packs. This would be insta-coolify you considering I'm too slow in the head to figure out where to get the good stuff.

thanks

Programs used: FL Studio 10 and 11.
Audacity sometimes?

the third one was the coolest i think because the sound you used mostly wasnt as harsh as the plucking thing you used on the first track. a lowpass or some sort of eq on those harsher sounds that fill the higher frequencies on the spectrum would be nice.
oh yeah

you still need to improve the Beat to make us dance or something like that
You should download a sound pack or you can steal some sound from an example music on fl studio like Deadmau5 example music.

if you can make it better, I might use your song for some vid
keep the good work

0w, I liked Sicko Funk.

thanks anyway .

if you could send me a sound pack, that'd be nice too

It sounds like you're inexperienced with music production, Those drums sound like the default kits in FL (gross)
Here, let me expand your library, the more stuff you have, the better!

A nice drum synthesizer
Glitch VST and others (ignore Glitch 2, that's shareware, scroll down to "Old VST Plugins pack"
Awesome trance synthesizer
All around synthesizer
Another all around synth
Another good drum synthesizer

Also, if you have any questions about FL Studio and production in general, you can ask me through my skype: helixinhand
Even though you unadded me

So, there's a new song in the playlist/album thing called "Creme de La Creme".

I hate it's guts with a fiery passion (I didn't mix the sounds together good enough, gaaahhhh), but whatever. As long as I'm improving somewhat.

I'll hope I am

I suggest adding a subbass to "Creme de la Creme", it needs to have something low to fill that void (other than the bass drum).
I think I'm hearing side chaining but it's not too clear
The drum beat is weak for what you are attempting, it doesn't go together very well
Also the melody is very basic
But I am hearing that you're making progess

Also, it seems that your rap beats are much better than your EDM songs, I'd suggest listening to Aphex Twin to get a glimpse of melody done right (specifically his song 'Flim'), and I wouldn't be suprised if you've listened to deadmau5. He give an excellent example of song progression and melody. Also, if you want really good FL Studio tutorials and tips, check out a guy named SeamlessR on YouTube.

You should probably base some more of your work off j4ckpot, learn from the mistakes in others and literally take notes.

i might not know much about creating electronic music but i play real instruments;
- piano
- bass
- saxaphone

also it really annoys me when people put me in their first post, since i dont actually shit on people that look like theyre trying or aren't a dickhead
please dont do it again

thanks for the help

I was just trying to make sure you weren't just naturally rude and wouldn't bring that around one of my posts, but I'm glad that you confronted me about this.

speaking of notes that go together, i forgot to mention that when i first listened to the tracks the melodies were very simple, and i felt like there wasnt a lot of coherence between the bassline melody and lead melody, which i think is the most important part in a song. ofc nobody cba to take music theory classes to fully understand it, but i sorta got the basics of it just by listening to songs that presented a lead melody and bassline clearly and simple to the ears, and i was able to kinda study it and learn how both work together. the lead melody places the emotion, while the bass melody empowers it, from my experience. im on my phone right now so i cant give you any great examples, but i think some good examples would be some uk hardcore techno tracks because of how distint both the lead melody and bassline sound. check out the track scott brown - elysium plus and listen to the chorus. right before it, there is a piano riff. the bass only appears like a bar later though, and you can observ how it affected the melody by giving it more emotion. when i get on somthing thats not my phone ill make a not so half assed post
oh yeah
