Are people in USA really that.... stupid and ignorant?

Just because some Americans are idiotic doesn't mean all of them are.
I suppose ignorant things have more of an effect because people tend to remember the negative impacts on their lives.

I'm an American, born and raised. There are some dumb ass people in this country, but there are some worldwide people who have also impacted the world itself in general as positive as well as the negative.

tbh lots of people have this idea of america because a lot of shows have the purpose of showcasing out of the ordinary (and, to most people, "stupid") people since we like watching it so much for some reason. see: here comes honey boo boo

You can't even make a generalization that big within one county of a region of counties within a state within the united states. Let alone our entire nation.

We have our village idiots just like any other nation. We have our geniuses like any other nation. We have everyone in between like any other nation.

I don't honestly see any merit to this thread existing.

I didn't read too much of that article, so correct me if I'm wrong, but it didn't seem like the author had a lot of solid evidence, just a lot of accusations. Americans have been stereotyped to be obese, stupid people who shoot guns and eat bacon all day. You can't believe everything you see.

I have an iq of 150

why is that relevant?

I thought we were supposed to prove that the majority of the US isn't stupid, not just one person. It just happens to be that the people that are stupid are also well known.

Americans as a whole are obese. We have a huge lack of knowledge for public nutrition. That's not the point of this thread.
