Sometimes when I'm chewing on fragments, I chomp down on a vertical piece and it goes straight into my gums and fucking hurts.

But for instance; If you said car, I think red. House is yellow, cup is white, hat is blue, etc. With numbers it's different. I have colors for numbers 1-9 and then for double digit numbers the color is whatever color the first digit is. So 1 is yellow, 2 is blue, 3 is red, 4 is orange, 5 is green, 6 is blue, 7 is red, 8 is green, and 9 is red. So if the number were 42 then I think orange. If it were 78 I would think red. Idk why I do it, but that's the first thing I think of when someone says something.
i associate numbers with colours aswell. my colours are slightly different than yours though
1-red
2-blue
3-green
4-red
5-blue
6-orange
7-red or yellow
8-yellow
9-red
0-not sure actually
something i also do is associate locations with songs or albums. i have this one specific place that is two blocks down my sisters apartment which i associate with a specific song, no idea why. i associate the apartment with a specific album aswell
i also think in english (not my native language)
also, now that i remember i have more rules for my stepping game

if the object on the ground is a rug or something that occupies a tonshit of tiles, i will imagine a line going in between two tiles every other tile that i can only step on, like this:
that is in my kitchen. i can only step on the red lines, BUT if i start counting the tiles and see that one of the tiles doesnt have a match (bottom tile), i will become sad and not play the game. because of this i tend to arrange stuff around the house so that it occupies an even number of tiles
