recently i have been watching alot of foreign Martial arts movies on netflix. some were really good, some not so much.
Ip man
Yip Man(Ip Man) is the grandmaster that trained Bruce Lee, this is loosely based on him. Probably my favorite movie.
Ip man 2
Sequel to Ip Man
The legend is born: Ip man
Once again, very loosely based on his life. This takes place when he is first learning Wing Chun
Ip man: The final fight
Takes place much later in his life, After he teaches Bruce Lee. End credits shows rare actual footage of Yip.
Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior
Awesome movie with some of the best fight scenes ive seen.
A precious Buddha statue is stolen from a small farming village, and one man tries to get it back.
-side note, Ong-Bak2 and 3 are decent movies, but they are not sequels...more like prequels.....makes no sense...
Flashpoint
Starring the same guy as Ip man(Donnie Yen) Who is a detective trying to take down a local gang with the help of his partner who is undercover.
Bodyguards and Assassins
As the Chinese revolution is about to begin, modern China's founder faces an assassination attempt, and the best Kung Fu masters attempt to protect him.
Donnie Yen is also in this movie. but isnt the main person.
The man from nowhere
Awesome movie, just finished watching it.
A little girl gets kidnapped, and he will do anything to save her.
Awesome little camera tricks to subtly show he is a badass, until you actually see him fight.
Dragon
Once again, a Donnie Yen movie.....
A small town's paper mill gets robbed, and one of the employees fights back, getting his ass kicked, but manages to kill both of them. One detective slowly uncovers it may not have been an accident, and the employee might be a master Martial artist.
Riki-Oh: The story of Ricky
No words can describe this movie.....except for maybe the fact a dog gets kicked in half. Kicked...In half....
ill let that sink in...
-----
Good shows and movies to watch.
Firefly
Awesome show. only one season long tho...
Think Wild West, in space.
After being cancelled, they made a movie called "Serenity" to kind of wrap up the story. Awesome movie too.
Chuck
CIA developed a program to input skills and information into agents minds, making them super spies. Chuck, however, is not a spy. He just works at an electronic store. And he gets it downloaded into his head.
Sherlock
Its a new age take on Sherlock Holmes.
Scrubs
If you dont know what scrubs is, you are prob a scrub.
Parks and Recreation
Pretty funny show. Has Ron Swanson in it, thats all you need.
Goon
Hockey movie about a bouncer at a bar, who gets in a fight with a hockey player in the stands during a game. Coach likes what he sees, and has him come play for him as a goon.
