I've driven it twice so far and I absolutely love it. 2nd gear is fucking nasty on it. I'll throw it into second and the ass end damn near drags the ground. Friend of mine's selling it to me for $1k. He paid $650 for it when it wasn't running and put some money in it to get it right. I've got to get a fuel filter and some plug wires when I get it though. She's a little rough in the lower RPMs. Only has 124k miles on her though. My fucking 96 GMC c1500 has 219k on it.
I've honestly thought about doing an engine swap with the truck but I'm not sure if the stock trans can hold up to that jump. Another reason I'm probably not going to do it is the main reason I want this car is for gas mileage. That 2.8 gets hella gas mileage compared to the tree fiddy vortec

engine swap on the truck would be more money and effort than than good.
as far as the rough second gear goes, i have no clue, but a rough low rpms could be something as small as old oil or trans fluid

Yea, I'm not worried about the trans and I'm sure the low rpms is something simple. Being in an automotive program has it's perks. I have access to all sorts of service manuals and all that good shit online through the school so I can fix damn near anything that I'd need to. Only reason I'd ever to an engine swap with that car is if i have the time to do it and the money for a new trans and gas to put in it. I could probably do the whole thing at school to be honest. Hell, I could probably use the lifts and shit out here to do anything if I really needed to. The clearance jump is a huuuge difference from working on trucks and shit. I'm used to being able to crawl up underneath a 2x4 or a 4x4 truck no problem but I can barely squeeze my arm up underneath this thing. I guess I can actually get some use out of my floor jack and jack stands now
