Does personality type dictate how good you are in toribash?
Ok, so I was thinking, why can some people understand the mechanics of toribash pretty easily while others don't? What kind of people are good at toribash? Do all the "good" people have similiar personalities?

Before you post, i would like everyone to take this test and post their results, so we can survey what kind of people play toribash
www.16personalities.com

My results were "INTJ", which generally means critical thinkers and those likely to take the path of engineers or scientists, this personality also happens to be the same as Sherlock Holmes, and it also explains that INTJ are good at understanding mechanics and systems very easily, this might explain how I was able to understand toribash pretty fast.

So, I don't know if it's just me, hopefully we can get some reults and see if there is a trend in those who play toribash.

There's no real goal for it but it's interesting to know, so yeah, what are your opinions?

i feel as though certain people have more motivation than others to 'get good' at the game
whether personality dictates that or not, it's all reliant on whether you really want to become good eg ingame or single player
as for me, i don't care if i can suplex, but take zero - he can rek em n' roll em - not sure what his personality is so i'd use him as a test
don't talk to me or my dudes ever again
INTP
In toribash I think the majority of the best (competitive) players are fairly dickish. Some really nice guys just can't get good.
i think personality does dictate skill in toribash, if your too uncaring you misclick and make dumb mistakes, if you are crazy for details you won't miss little things like extending your ankle to get a better kick, if you rage a lot you are gonna get angry and miss details that could be crucial in winning

Interesting, so it seems like it doesn't matter what personaility type you are, but I think most of you are refering "toribash skills" to competitive games?

I would like to hear from those who have high interest in replaymaking such as sparring, parkour, -30 ukebashing, tricking, or generally anything realism based, as well as hacking maybe. I think we can all agree that competative and replaymaking are two completely different levels. So let's see if this is correct. Opinions?

it most likely just influences how you approach the game
i guess it does possibly dictate how good you can get depending on determination and whatever
oh yeah

Since you mentioned that, I now realise that I don't recall seeing any outstandingly good toribashers being assholes

I always get ISTJ when I do these, so I don't have the fancy picture because I don't feel like doing it right now.

I'd say that replay makers are very inclined to be more introverted, because, obviously, its a solo thing. I don't think extroverted types would be the kind of people who would enjoy slaving away for a few hours for some 15 second thing that most people won't even like that much. Other than that I really don't know enough about this subject to really say, but I don't think it would have that much of an effect on skill level. Like pusga said, at the most it would affect how you approach/think about it.
