imo the USD prices are about right
the average user's perception of the price is skewed by the ST price, whereas shop prices seem to go by the actual popularity of the item
like who the hell actually wants the cassette player? it only has value as a status symbol because it was given out for winning that tbmedia event. the item itself is not very interesting or cool

This I understand. Imagine the crown from the clan league 2k14 being tossed around random guys with 20 bucks in their paypal account.
I know there is a significant difference between those two but the roots stay the same. They are items only given out to the players who won a certain event (TMA,TCL), why should we be able to buy them from the shop.
Otherwise I agree with chesh, that some people may not get into many GM tourneys or arent as skilled as other people.
I fall under that group and I consider it a fair thing to do. (maybe it seems biased, but lemme tell you, I am not craving for some random items to be added to my tori.)

TBMedia is not an official usergroup. There are no items that should exist only for their events (in fact, after all the troubles they caused to staff they should've been happy that we let them have that item and that avwave bothered to make it).
We are not going to sell any items that you can only get by participating in massive events like the league. These ones that you mentioned here are, however, either seasonal items or items made for relatively small events.
If you don't have anything different and preferably constructive to add, please stop raging. USD prices were added because they should've been there from the start (unlike Shiai Tokens) and because game servers aren't run for free.
