The O Guruma setup. Because when you put the leg to perform the move, the uke must be unbalanced, and the tori must be "looking" to the ground.

These are three principles that always work:
1 - Break the balance/base
2 - Set the move
3 - Throw

In the setup you made, the tori is bending back when you're trying to set the move, and this will not work, will not allow you to throw. Most probably the uke would pull you back or down (<- because you are unbalanced, giving uke space to throw you).

@ iver,

I see what you mean. So basically i need to change by base leg so im lower to the ground and so im not arching my back so much. Ill look into it when i get home tonight.
---
so i find that the o guruma is not like the powerful 'goshi' throws. in throws like o goshi and harai goshi youre throwing your opponent over your hip which is why as you said, you need to face the ground and stay bent foward because youre carrying your opponents weight on your hips and back.

o guruma is different because youre rotating your opponent over your leg as it were a physical axis. so yes its not good im arching in the demo but it allows me to sneak my 'axis' leg around uke. when my base knee extends it gives enough pop to set my back straight and lift uke's weight and then the rotation begins.

Im going to experiment a bit with hipthrows. Need to learn the basic one first (already got the opener though).

Edit: Here is my first hipthrow from when I just found out about team aikido. Don't mind the contracted wrists.
I didn't know about the rules back then (a few weeks ago)
Protip: Watch these replays with /opt (uke/tori) 0. Remove the one who does the throw

I think lat drops are a really important study because traditional judo doesnt have "chest to chest" throws which are more common in toribash aikido. i have some replays of this throw. ill post them tonight when i get home.

and what do you mean by lat grabs?
-----
heres my input. the lateral drop is like a sacrifice throw where you get dangerously low, with your opponent on top weighing you down. now you could do it like snake where you completely drop your base (wubwub) or my way which seems a bit safer but less powerful. same dq.

you need at least one bent leg to fall on and you first lead rotate in one direction and then switch. the key is to stay low and underneath ur opponent and also save your movements. i like to switch rotate-chest first and then next turn i extend and contract pecs appropriately. like in the kolat video your pulling shoulder should be lowered (overhook) and your pushing shoulder should be raised (underhook). use ur hips abs and lumbar for a nice back arch and ofc watch your head.
