Mostly great quality posts guys, well done! Also welcome our new admin cocacobra! I was also thinking about perhaps adding Melqart in as an admin too since his activity his great and would be beneficial in some way or another. What do you think Melqart, Lazors and coca?

I'm up for it if it's something I can handle, it'd be great if you could enlighten me about what the tasks are.
atm, its nothing much, just viewing peoples apps, making sure they fill in all the req information and then accepting them, but, also to make sure post quality is consistently satisfactory.
if we become official (the time may come to apply one day) you'll have other duties i guess, but, we'll see in the future.

i'm adding the moderators now, so that when the time comes to us applying, we already have a selection of mods to include into the app and to help kick start the official org (making new threads etc)
but, also to try and get members accepted as quickly as possible and so they can learn to do the right thing while posting, to achieve consistent high post quality (yay..).
ALSO, to add some variety here, I would like you three admins to post an interesting question about music (put it in bold) for some members to answer. for example, it could be why is such and such your favourite genre, or what is your favourite song/ music video of all time and let them post the youtube link.
so yep, if it has been a sufficient time since someone has last answered the current question (say 1 day or 20 hours etc.) then go ahead and post an interesting new one.
I'll send galaxy a pm with all the additions and stuff, cheers guys.

Sounds awesome. I don't think it should be just moderators job to pose questions about music posted. Rather than just posting a link to a song I feel like everyone should have to contribute to the discussion and at the very least explain what song their posting or even describe what is interesting about it. If we can raise the overall post quality and include more discussions then I definitely think we can get official.
Anyways I'll start off.
Crying Lightning is primetime Arctic Monkeys and definitely makes it into my top 5 Arctic Monkeys songs. Love the deep bass, and how they're able to jam out on all their instruments without making it sound overcrowded. Crying Lightning was the most popular song off of Humbug but it topped out at #11 on the charts. Alex Turner really is an awesome singer/songwriter because he knows his voice and can make the lyrics flow very well (also if you're a QOTSA fan, Josh Homme produced Humbug).
I agree, the lyrics flow really nice, and I like that they're original.
Also like the bass in this song, don't often hear the bass so clear which is something I like alot.

here's an awesome song that I found, I actually REALLY like this. alot.
didn't like the first 2 minutes that much because it was kinda repetitive, but the rap part was pretty cool.
Alright guys, I'd like to know what your first experience with music you can remember is!
(not counting lullaby's and those old school songs)
My first experience with music are songs from Sonata Arctica, my sister always listened to metal and when I finally got my own mp3-player I asked her to put some music on, she overloaded it with Sonata Arctica and some other metal bands, the first time I ever listened to it I was completely blown away. I've always had a place in my heart for Sonata Arctica then.
I wonder if you guys have any cool story about your first meeting with music ;p
edit: added the song because I was stupid and forgot to add it.
My first encounter with liking music.. is uh.. you guys are gonna get a laugh outa this, but i used to think this song was so amazing xD
NOT SAYING I STILL LIKE IT NOW JEEZ
what the fuck those pecs are burning my eyes
also, forgot to add the song to my previous post because I'm an idiot so I just added it.

Tupac's love is well deserved, his lyrics are always meaningful and real. He delivers a message with every song. I honestly don't think this song is as catchy and iconic as his other songs but still good.
Also I'm a fan of Bloc Party which is another Brit band, they have a slower style but when the vocals really gets going I absolutely love it. This song is definitely one of their different and harder songs, I like it though.
EDIT ninja'd by thinkfasts WWE upbringing lol
that song was pretty cool actually
also I remember one of my childhood friends used to be a big fan of Kiss so we listened to it together a few times, those were some good ol' times.
Haven't seen that friend in 5 years tho.
i knew sting was in the police, but i didnt know the police consisted of 3 stings either way one of those songs that everyone likes, i literally dont know anyone who doesn't like Message in a Bottle or Every Breath You Take
since i am required to say something: dnb track by Photek, guy makes awesome textures and breaks.
also i've tried to think about why some of the recent EDM, super high production value tracks are way more forgettable to me, even if really like them at first. i started noticing it after i started listening to modern happy hardcore/ UK HC, it seems like a lot of the songs are instantly awesome but die out the more i listen to them, while other songs last for seemingly years before making me bored.
i think the conclusion i have reached is as the amount of effort and tweaking put into them is insane, there is practically nothing in the song that is "questionable" or unclear, like it is very evident what the artist is trying to achieve, since the engineering makes the whole song crystal clear, and it leaves nothing to my interpretation.
in the song i posted above there is stuff that i only noticed like months after i first heard it, and the same happens with a lot of my favourite ambient albums (FSOL - Dead Cities, Boards of Canada - Tomorrow's Harvest). those albums are filled with stuff that i am not even sure i like, which makes me more interested in them for some reason.
thoughs i had, no idea if it happens to anyone else. i saw a post by someone (Lazors?) earlier in this thread saying that they prefer songs which have "worse" quality, and i see that a lot of the times probably because of this.
