I see where you're coming from, but I think the post tags are basically the same as sub-threads that official clans have, and don't really discourage people to post because they can always use the [General] tag.
However, since they are almost the same as sub-threads, they wouldn't be very useful if/when we go official. For example, all of the [AFK] talk would be in the inactivity thread anyways.

Pretty much what Laser said about the tags if for some reason that does manage to discourage someone who is posting then I'm not sure the clan is for them. It's simply just typing a word and some brackets and just bolding it. So far it has worked out fine and I'm sure it will continue to be a good system. We have actually gotten a lot of compliments saying that people like our post system and how it's something different. I personally like it a lot and for me it has become a habit using a tag with posts, I mentioned on y'alls thread that I felt like I should have added a tag to it because it's just something I'm use to.
The member cap I can understand what you mean but something we don't want to happen is to have people in our clan who didn't even know someone else was in the clan. It is like that with some clans because there is just too many members. Of course I'm sure we might make exceptions for the member cap for certain members we are willing to let enter past the member cap. We will be discussing stuff relative to all of this that you brought up Ele so thanks m8.

It's been a while since I've seen you here - thanks dropping by with some advice.
I'm really beginning to harden on activity.
Although I am reminding members to post and stuff, I will begin to push forum activity even harder shortly.
About the member cap.
I think restricting it down to a certain amount of members is a grant idea.
We plan to be a family, constantly passing each other by.
Having too many members makes it really difficult at times, but if there are allot of cool people that apply, I guess the member cap can be pushed aside.
As Lurk said, adding a single bracketed word to a post, and bolding it, really isn't difficult. We don't want people that are too lazy to add a tag, because then they'd most likely be too lazy to do anything.
With this said, the post system is obviously a genius idea.

Mmm, I didn't really want to give my opinion because every clan is different and what works for some won't work for others and vice versa. There's different guiding visions too, that affect the choices being made.
Though, one of the ways to increase forum activity is to model good forum activity. The leadership should all be posting as often as they can (ideally, more often than they can). Whenever the leadership's online, and a post hasn't been made in over two or three hours, that's the leadership's cue to make a post. Obviously they wouldn't be posting for the sake of posting, they'd come up a conversation starter or respond to other member's posts. By modelling good activity, the others learn to do the same; it's like monkey see - monkey do. If the members are seeing that the leadership is posting heaps, then they'll get the hint and realise they should too.

I try my best to model good forum activity, but there are times where I just can't post.
I really appreciate this advice though, I'll be sure to put it to practice right now, or as soon as possible.

My mum came home this afternoon, and informed me that her boss offered me an 8 hour job to replace my 5 hour job that I already do every saturday.
I'm going to take it, mainly because I'll be getting a higher pay rate, plus picking avocado's is easy as fuq.
Another bonus? I don't have to interact with anyone and am allowed to listen to my music.
Pretty excited to start to be honest, $100 a week is better than $40 a week... shame it's not until the end of May.
