I have yet to see why a decision where made prior to the grounds of it being posted. (In this case the new take on clan inactivity.)

Also, as far as I remember, No announcement of these changes were made to the respective maintainers of clans at this point, may I ask why? May I right-out ask if this were in an ill attempt to backstab those who do not tend to revisit stickies containing forum rules without being notified of such changes?

Does that mean you didn't read the previous rules?

Here's a link to Fish's set from Jan 28th 2011

That set predate your clan being official by a couple of months, so you've read them right?
*Official since Feb, 2011 according to the system - however the real date was March 27th

If that rule was there in plain sight 4 year ago then we can't be backstabbing you with a sudden Gynx related change. Rest easy.

However JR are from before you lot though which gives a slight problem... I did a hunt for Delaid, Hamr & Manbreakfast's rule threads, but alas it seems theirs were killed at some point a couple of years ago.

Regardless, the rule was there back then too. It was there when my clan was made official in 08, it was there before then, it was there afterwards.
Nothing changed in that regard.
Look in the dead clan area and you'll see clans that predate JR were killed for inactivity - a few with their final moments way back in 07. Gotta love history.

Your clan, I take it you mean Hung reborn aka fl0w? I'm pretty certain the original dates back to 3 or so years prior to that. And if it matters i believe i officially joined Hung in 2010, Dec(?).

"If an explanation isn't provided within a week" is what I remember existing in that line of the rules-text when it came to inactivity, am I wrong?
Now doing recoloring for people not in the clan as-well, PM for more info!

This is just getting childish. Oldies making drama because their obviously inactive clan is officialy deemed inactive. You're still all on the same planet and connected to the internet with a shitload of ways to communicate among yourselves. If you still have some interest for the game, revive your clan and give it the means to be active, or make a new clan with other oldies.
You had fun with Toribash for all those years, and if you can't undestand a community based multiplayer game needs some community maintenance for its own sake, and forgive it for that, you're being pretty immature, or selfish.

edit : a game needs to live, not cherish the old players like special snowflakes at the cost of its own image.

Well not happily, but I would accept and I wouldn't harass the clan council for unnecessary explainations ; because I like playing Toribash no matter what and we prepared for the eventuality we'd become too inactive in the eyes of the Clan Council, as we had some pretty quiet periods... but we're still active and kickin' afterall.

When you make/join a clan, it's pretty clear from the start that activity is a condition for the clan to exist, even 5 years ago, it has never been a big secret.

Edit : about fl0w, we do have 9~10 ingame active members scattered in different time zones, we're 4 or 5 around the same timezone playing pretty much daily. There isn't one week passing without a few messages on the forums. If the clan council checks our secret forum they can see we're still doin' community stuff, planning eventual events, people still apply, and we still accept new recruits, and we're not even forcing it, we're even considering ourselves lazy... it's just that we still have some interest for the game. So yeah, that'd be weird to be marked for deletion

I was going to quote your "suggestion" for this but it's late and I'm tired and this was on the last page.

What you're suggesting is already an option, well not in the exact words you used, but yeah. I'll briefly go over how they'd do it.

k so clan fails a check, does nothing about it & fails the second check. They're then given a week to decide what to do: die, or "revive" - the latter doesn't have to be immediate however.

Reviving as per the clan rules (go read for the specifics) would allow them to give it another go starting as an unofficial clan with the same tag.
They can then aim to be official again which would regain them their old board - which is why boards aren't killed & tags aren't set free.

Both RAWR and Urban could go down that route if they decided to.

So yeah, that pretty much hits the meat of your suggestion.

It doesn't seem important, but to these people the forging of the clan means something. Forging a new clan would feel like the old clan died. (Correct me if i'm wrong, people in question).

Besides, like i said, it's just a few extra clicks. Gotta be worth a try, and it's not a big change to the system we have. It might make people keep the clan going instead of disbanding it.

Re the dsc thing. It'd be the thread/post that's used as the clan page on the clan system that gets moved to clan discussion if they decide to go down the unofficial/revive route, which for the majority of clans has their roster, story etc. Basically what an unofficial clan has for the op of their thread.

If they choose their original clan discussion thread to use for the clan page then even better. However older clans didn't have things like that (they system to become official was different back then), so in their case there's no original thread to restore.

It's really not as harsh as people are making out it is, they only die completely after failing activity if they choose to. The clan guys will happily revert a clan to unofficial if that's what the clan decides. It even states in the "pending removal" thread posted in their boards that they can chose to revive the clan which would restore them as unofficial.

Unofficial ones are only culled if there's no members left in it
