@lazors, i feel like the music industry is turning worse because all the different sounds a genre makes just seem to get turned into the most mainstream and popular one to gain more money, fans, attention etc.
the thing is, all artists seem to do it, people may say stuff like 'oh, its just a change, things have to be different or you'll get bored of them etcetc' but, it's really just taking all of the artists and putting them in a pop album, because, if they don't make something wildly popular, they're not going to survive in the music industry because independent music has a small chance of coping against the majority these days.

also, how was the concert?

It seems to be the opposite over here i'm afraid since mainstream music is literally everywhere, with only buskers providing the public with music of their own. You can see that people are really getting tired of this mainstream overload and are getting really excited for the new blur album which will be popular and on a lot of english radios, but for once it isn't over produced rubbish, it's the return of the 90's sound temporarily. I know a lot of radios and other people put on music from 20 odd years ago, but, I'm pretty sure middle aged people are getting fed up with the lack of popular modern music with the quality of the music from their generation. This is arguable, but, I'm sure most adults would agree with me.

i may be about to say an atrocity, but isnt that possible to achieve with detuning the instruments/synths? i have on many occasions pitched a song up or down to increase/decrease the speed or to change the key to something i like more. but again i am not completely understanding of microtones

The regular scale is an octave divided into 12 notes. A microtonal scale could for example divide an octave into 24 or 32 notes (but they don't have to have the same intervals).

right, then my though was correct i believe (i actually meant to say pitch, not sure why i mentioned detuning)
ive always thought of it as something you would get by fine pitching synths, atleast thats why i always tried to do to get a more emotional sound from them. i believe i got the idea from listening to boards of canada, in specific Twoism and Music Has The Right To Children
