Why not just buy VIP and have a decently large one for a year? Makes more sense. especially if the feature is added then it'll be quite the price.

Also, why not re-add 3 letter names and special characters? (Within Reason). Say, special characters and/or 3 letter names being thrice the cost of an average namechange, or for USD.
