MMA Talk
Hey guys, here you can talk about anything MMA related ;) Whether it's dream matches, your training routine, uprising fighters or anything else about MMA you wanna talk about ^_^ To start us off I'll put the topic on Brandon Halsey, an uprising MMA Fighter currently residing in Bellator MMA. I personally think he should be in the UFC, he can be explosive like in the Alexander Shlemenko Fight but also dominant over a long duration like in the Kendall Grove fight. The YouTube vids of both fights I talked about are below V

Halsey Fights

P.S. I should mention he is 9-0 undefeated and that Shlemenko was the champ at middleweight when Halsey submitted him in 35 seconds via rear naked choke to win the title and his 8th win but then transferred to the light heavy weight division where he currently resides. I couldn't find the full Grove Fight nor could I embed the Vine video into a direct video inside the spoiler so help from anyone on either one would be appreciated.

You can tell from his win results that he is very versatile, so well rounded. Share your thoughts ;)

Nick Diaz doesn't really like fighting anymore and is only interested in returning for the biggest fights. If he doesn't want to fight anymore, what makes you think he'd be willing to fight his brother?

My dream matchup is definitely Jon Jones vs Cain Velasquez for title of toughest dude in the world. Plus there's a good chance this will happen if Jones can sort himself out

Can we also talk about MA from a general point of view as well ? I don't know much about UFC/MMA, I just know I like it. I'm more of a Traditional MA guy originally, I practice Wing Chun and some Ba ji quan, but I'm not sectarian... I like to spy around and watch other systems, there are stuffs to learn in everything.

Would you guys consider MMA as a whole system ? It feels like most fighters have learned the same basics, which looks like BJJ for the ground, Muay-thai legs, and Boxing hands. Which does look effective in the octogon.
Good point Pidge, everyone specializes somewhere. I consider it both a mix of multiple systems and a system in its own right. And yes deprav you can talk about MA from a general point of view
