I can't choose one. Favorite albums/EP/mixtapes of all time:
Mylo Xyloto - Coldplay
I just realized I like a lot.
I had a 14 hour car drive yesterday, and I ended up listening to this album quite a bit throughout the journey, specifically "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall".
My favorite album at the moment is American Idiot because it's the only recent album by Green Day that I enjoy. Their old stuff is so much better.

my favorite song from the album is boulevard of broken dreams, i just like the lyrics and melody.
some more infected mushroom
still nothing else like these guys
I understand and do admire your ideas and compassion, and honestly I had thought about doing something along these lines before, but, never attempted due to the fear of the board getting overcomplicated with little drive to it, plus if we had a solid month at the very least of extreme high quality posts, we'd be able to get our own board and therefore many threads with many purposes. however if you and others do want to do this, I am completely fine with it since it's understandable posting the same old same old posts is boring, repetitive and not too varied. I for one would be very happy to join in with the discussion too!
all this being said, I think we are close to applying to become official and therefore we may need a few little donations (completely voluntary, I'll of course be placing about half of my tc at least towards this cause) and if we are accepted as an official org some things will change..
as a warning if we become official:
cobra urged that we will start to get more specialised and less broad member wise with only people we believe deserve a place here to be a member; yes we understand that anyone can be a music lover, but, the case is do you really want to?
this will also mean every member apart from admins and I will have to fill out an application again to get back in, and also ones who I deem worthy (probably at least two) members will get the choice to become administrators too if they would like.
after that 'speech', I'll just add keep up the good work guys, we are nearly there.

my first question to anyone, I'm pretty sure there are some guitar players here (right?) and so I'd like to know if you use any pedals often and which are you favourite, since I adore the distortion in some of them.
[19:59] <Lazors> man it's a good thing people don't see what i write here
just going to quickly add that there is no need to make an application just yet, once we get official, we'll start a new thread for joining and we'll do it there. the system will be the same for now.
[Instrument]
I'm not really too knowledged on instrument types, including pedals and also don't play an electric, so I don't have much idea on them at all.
however I do find videos like these great to watch, and fun to see the combined sound.
from this video my two favourites would have to be the monsterpiece scratchy snatch and the ehx holy grail.
really hoping this guy makes more videos like this. the comment section hints that he may do an 'how to' interpol next.

interesting sounds created, especially the lute which feels very warm.
new question to get the ball rolling Name a music artist/band perhaps that have something very unique in their performances, be it accidental or purposeful.
this is a bit vague and hard to understand in terms of a question, but, here is mine;
Ian Curtis from the band Joy Division
Ian was an epileptic and this got worse as he got older. he usually had seizures on stage due to the lighting, causing a very distinctive dance style of his (shown in the video), however, he sometimes was only kept conscious by the amount of arm and leg flailing he was doing and sometimes collapsed and had to be carried offstage.
These seizures also brought out a sound of desperation in his voice, and it worked since alot of JD's music was more of the depressing kind because of the depressed state of mind Curtis was in. On the 18th of may 1980, he killed himself, but left his mark on the scene of post-punk for a long time now. I'll probably be doing a piece of art on him because of the character he was.

a wee bit of inactivity going on lately
@lazors, IS THIS THE WEIRD 80'S AGAIN, really strange having that generic beat and such with the japanese lyrics. for some reason I like it? or do I?
the side projects from vocalists are usually pretty amazing (although skilled members of a band can also regularly be amazing in their own stuff, although less recognised coughgrahamcoxoncough)
emily haines remains to be one of the only vocalists I can listen to.
(the music starts at 0:20 by the way)

Skylar: pretty nice, although i dont think i like the key change too much. i think the initial melody before 0:55 was up my alley. to be honest though, i got somewhat used to the key changes and they didnt bother me that much. i guess i just dont agree with them, even though they are not bad in any way.
vocals are pretty nice, i like breathy vocals (not in pop though for some reason). i liked the video aswell
im not gonna do weekend shuffle on this post because that would make it too big
question: what is the densest album you've listened to?
densest as in most difficult to enjoy/get used to. sometimes it is really hard to like an album unless you listen to it like 10 times. i feel like the reward for doing so is greater than it is for an usual great album though.
mine is definitely Aphex Twin - drukQs. super hard to like at first, especially considering that it doesn't seem to break any new ground for richard. however that idea went away for me after i forced myself to listen to it a bunch of times. if you read the reviews for the album when it first came out it is almost funny, but if you ask anyone this album is considered pretty good now
my favourite track from the album. sounds like an ultra fast dnb beat with acid rave synth plastered all over. becomes less ravey at 2:18 if you wish to skip the first part. i tend to think that pop music is really catchy but gets old fast, and one thing unique about this album for me is that sounds like pop, as in it has tons of appeal, but it does not get old at all. before i even liked this album i thought it was just a really drowned out version of rejected Analord volumes

Least favorite genre of music: Country/Blues

Favorite music sharing website: https://www.youtube.com but if that doesn't count, it'll be Hulkshare.com
One example of your favorite music:
@sr, oh, okay, i don't even know.
@pusga, I have heard alot of good things about aphex twin, and that song is frantic as hell, but, oddly enjoyable during the first two minutes, however the parts at about the 3 minute mark feels strangely magestic and beautiful like an ocean wave current, however when the fast tapping starts again, it kind of ruins the moment. still, I found it enjoyable upon first listen.
SHUFFLE SOMEDAY?
also in response to pusga's question, i would say the first gorillaz album, since it was a whole host of different types of music and wasn't really meant to be a success and merely an experimentation by damon albarn, however it did become inciting although some tracks I can today still not listen to. I also like the hiphop and other genre samples used by albarn in these albums too, they work in a certain way that appeals to me.
I do prefer the second album of gorillaz, and it was much easier to get into, however these old sounds are a nice change every once in a while I listen to them.
EDIT: okay so we had two people posting stuff while I wrote this okay
@Subz3, no idea what to recommend you, the only bass I like is the instrument, still pretty sure if you ask someone else they'll be able to discuss something.
@deak, pretty sure we accepted you, however we can't change the first post since the op doesn't do much here anymore, however once (/if) we get official we'll have much more control over that.
